The Summons: Once Judge Atlee was a powerful figure in Clanton, Mississippi. Now the judge is a sick, lonely old man who has withdrawn to his sprawling ancestral home. Knowing the end is near, Judge Atlee has issued a summons for his two sons to return to Clanton to discuss his estate. The Brethren: They call themselves the Brethren: three disgraced former judges doing time in a Florida federal prison. In prison these judges-turned-felons can reminisce about old court cases, dispense a little jailhouse justice, and contemplate where their lives went wrong. Or they can use their time in prison to get very rich, very fast.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The stories we ok the endings were bad. The bad guys come out the winner in both books.
They are just no fun. It's like watching the 10 oclock news

Would you ever listen to anything by John Grisham again?

It's been years and years sine I read one of Grisham's book now I remember why.

What does Frank Muller and Michael Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators were great. If not for them I would not have finished either book

What character would you cut from The Summons & The Brethren?

The characters were all great. The end of books was a major dissapointment

Her career in homicide has taken her into the darkest depths of New York City’s underground - and sometimes Lieutenant Eve Dallas feels more comfortable in those kinds of places than in the high-rise, high-society world of her billionaire husband, Roarke. But while she’s no party girl, she’s managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating the debut of The Icove Agenda. This time it’s Eve, not Roarke, who’s a guest of honor, since the film is based on one of her famous cases. Her partner, Peabody, is practically giddy....

Amy Huber says: "Susan Ericksen is amazing!"

What did you love best about Celebrity in Death?

Interesting characters and lots of them.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not on the edge of your seat. But lots of surprises.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The personalities really stand out when listeneing. You would not get this if you were reading
    the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Officer Peabody always makes me laugh

    Any additional comments?

I have never been a fan of Nora Roberts. I assumed that ment I would not care for J D Robb
I read the first book in the In Death series ands I was hooked. I listened to the first six books in the series and then skipped to #34 and it is the best so for. I intend to listen to all of them. Give them a try. Audible has a great return policy if you don't like the book

LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

What would have made Suspect better?

I listened for three hours. It was so boring I could not tell you what the story was about. I am a big fan of Crais's Elvis Cole Series. I could not believe he wrote this mess.

What was most disappointing about Robert Crais’s story?

    everything

Would you be willing to try another one of MacLeod Andrews’s performances?

    No problem with the narrator

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    NO

    Any additional comments?

If it wouldn't take 30 minutes on the phone I would return it.

Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read.

What would have made Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men better?

A story with some surprise, I would have been great for my 12 yr old daughter
if they would have left out the steamy sex.

Would you ever listen to anything by Molly Harper again?

Don't think so. At least not in this series. I have listened to one other book from this series
it was ok ther was a story line with some mystery. I was only 6.95 as was this one. this one was not even worth 6.95 and I sure would not use a credit on it.

What didn’t you like about Amanda Ronconi’s performance?

No problem with narrator. She was the best part of the book. I would not have made it as far in the book as I did if it were not for her

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men?

    All of them.
