While this was a fantastic book, I have to give recognition to Shelly Frasier. Her narration was perfectly matched to Cayce Pollards character; intelligent and engaging. I am listening to "Spook Country" and countless times I wish Ms. Frasier was reading it.
I'm not sure why there was a 1 star rating for this. I've listened to a lot of M/M romance, and I really enjoyed this. It's not deep literature, but it had and interesting and unique plot, told from multiple points of view, wasn't too mentally taxing or difficult to follow. The story was romantic without being too explicit.
This is a book I will listen to again and again. I would highly recommend it to anyone into the M/M romance genre.
While the editing and narration were slightly off (someone needs to tell the narrator how to pronounce Penelope), this is one of the best gay romance books I've listened to. Characters are subtle and well rounded. The dialog is some of the best I've ever read.
If you are a fan of gay romance, buy this book. I'm not a furry - so my enjoyment of the characters is purely based on the character development and story.
