The story line was totally different from any other audio I have listened to.

This book was refreshing since it was different.

Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of a boy who ends up murdering seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his 16th birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin’s horrific rampage, in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin.

Would you listen to We Need to Talk About Kevin again? Why?

Yes, but not right away, it is very intense. Almost keeps you agitated.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eva, she is extremely self centered and critical yet you begin to empathize with her. She is out of her league with her own son. Excellent writing!

    Which scene was your favorite?

Can't pick one, the whole book kept my attention.

If you could rename We Need to Talk About Kevin, what would you call it?

    A Troubled Child.

Murder In The Yoga Store is the true story of the brutal killing of a beautiful young woman at a chic Lululemon yoga-wear shop. The grisly murder was committed on a pleasant Friday night in upscale Bethesda, Maryland, a leafy suburb of Washington, D.C. In this riveting narrative by veteran journalist Peter Ross Range, the author for the first time brings together the tale of what really happened in the yoga store murder.

Ullanta says: "Straightforward, and, in the end, unnecessary."

What did you like best about this story?

Hard to say that you love a true story about a murder, but I could not put this audible down.

Which character – as performed by Jesse Einstein – was your favorite?

Judge Greenburgs comments to Britney and the Apple employees at the end.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Had to!!!!!

Why we think it’s a great listen: When it comes to author/narrator pairings, nobody tops James Lee Burke and Will Patton in the Robicheaux thrillers. Beloved Burke hero Detective Dave Robicheaux here returns to New Iberia to solve a series of grisly murders. Seven young women in neighboring Jefferson Davis Parish have been brutally murdered. While the crimes have all the telltale signs of a serial killer, the death of Bernadette Latiolais, a high-school honor student, doesn’t fit.

    Gardner says: "Best Yet... Almost"
    "Just the best!"

Would you consider the audio edition of The Glass Rainbow to be better than the print version?

Absolutley! Will Patton takes Burkes words and sets the scenes and characters perfectly.
You can immerse yourself in these stories. Try to set aside time not to be interrupted when you take an audio trip with Dave and Cletes.

What other book might you compare The Glass Rainbow to and why?

Creole Belle. The author takes us on the hunt for the killer of a young girl.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The ending.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Again, the ending.

    Any additional comments?

    Perfect partners.....Burke and Patton.

It could have been just any night, and they could have just been any two brothers - but it wasn't, and they weren't. The scene is an Atlanta bar. The music is loud and the dance floor is packed. The good-looking brother picks up a girl. But when dark deeds ensue out in the parking lot, what happens next can only be described in two words: vintage Slaughter. From the opening scene to the last line, "Thorn in My Side" is as wicked as it is entertaining.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I actually did not know how to rate it since it is fascinatingly gross!!!!!!

What was most disappointing about Karin Slaughter’s story?

I have purchased 6 others audios of this writer and have really enjoyed them! I just do not know how she even created this story.

How could the performance have been better?

It was not the performance, it was the story itself.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Thorn in My Side?

None, they all contributed to the sickness.

    Any additional comments?

I would like to know others opinions.

Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater; she lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds; she likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps; she has nothing left to lose.
