"Very disappointing"
This is a kids story, Audible failed to mark it as so. I purchased it because it said it was a science fiction story. now I am left wondering if all of R. A. Salvatore books are kids books or if all of the forgotten realm books or kids books.
Again Very disappointing!
"Disappointing"
I enjoyed her earlier books; however the last 3 she put out seem to be written for a much younger audience. The story is silly and the characters are supposed to be adults, yet they act, think and behave like young teens at times. They make ridiculous decisions then spend a good deal of the story justifying the decisions or overcome the consequence of those decisions.
I don’t remember her other books doing this. But again maybe my taste in books has changed.
"The more I listened to it the less I liked it."
Disappointing
The story did not flow very well, it was like each chapter was written by a different person who only loosely followed what happened in the previous chapters
"Interesting idea but poorly done."
I liked the general idea of the book and the way the author depicts the main character. However I agree with several of the other reviews that he does a poor job on character building. It is hard to imagine any other characters exists except for when they are dealing with the main character. Also you get the general feeling that their only purpose is to help or hinder the protagonist.
"Interesting with a few twists"
Similar to Outlander but with more of a mystery
When she met her father
when she met her father
Looking forward to the conclusion.
"Was not able to finish"
The antagonist was too much like a cartoon character.
No but it is a close call
she does fine
At some points it was funny and entertaining. But it kept getting closer and closer to silly.
Glad its over
"Blah Blah Blah"
I guess if I was using LSD or whatever he was using when he wrote this I would think it was great also. However, unfortunately I could not find such a bliss. I had to listen to it completely sober and not drooling on myself. The characters were unlikable; the story was unlogical and offered no explanations for the direction it took you in. I kept thinking that it must come to a logical conclusion but I was gravely mistaken. The romance for him was basically “WOW, SHE IS NAKED AND HOT I AM IN LOVE” and for her it was “OH DEAR I AM A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS AND HE IS MY HERO, I MUST BE IN LOVE” so they jump over a sword and are married. Unfortunately this is the most logical part of the story. It only gets worst form there.
"FUN, EXCITING AND MOST IMPORTANT DIFFERENT"
If you’re tired of the same creatures with the same story line as I was, then this is a great series. Once you get use to the sexual role reversal, the hero is insecure, emotional and cuddly the heroin is stoic, strong and protective the rest of it is a whirl wind of excitement battles and intrigue. Martha wells does a good job of building up the characters and getting you cheering for them, while still guessing at what comes next. It was fun and refreshing to listen to. Christopher Kipiniak did a good job with the different characters and accents while putting the right amount of passion and fear behind his performance.
The only thing I am disappointed about is that I am done listening to it and must wait for the next book in the serious to come out.
