Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

One of the primary topics of this book is baseball which I used to find very boring. I'm not saying I'll become a baseball fan, but I do know more about the psychology of the game. The family, religious upbringing, the struggles, and the contrasts of the characters made this book a home run for me. Being raised a strict Southern Baptist, I totally understood the feelings of everyone in the family and how they reacted to the doctrine of the church. It warmed my heart to see how those Bible stories, songs and even prayers were the foundation that held the characters together when they were presented with a difficult situation.

What about Robertson Dean’s performance did you like?

Loved the calmness of the narrator's voice.

    Any additional comments?

I'm not one to read a book twice, but this would be the one. I've recommended it to several so far, and will continue to do so.

Is it possible that there exists an ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future? That this mystery lies behind everything from 9/11 to the collapse of the global economy? That ancient harbingers of judgment are now manifesting in America? That God is sending America a prophetic message of what is yet to come? Before its end as a nation, there appeared in ancient Israel nine specific warnings and omens of national destruction - these same Nine Harbingers are now manifesting in America with profound ramifications.

Have you listened to any of Jonathan Cahn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, no comparisons on any of Jonathan Cahn's books

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

At the end of the book, he talked about how God is still waiting for as many as possible to believe in a higher power.

A compassionate, humorous story of faith, betrayal, and coming of age on the sawdust trail. She was just three years old when her mother signed on as the organist of tent revivalist David Terrell, and before long, Donna Johnson was part of the hugely popular evangelical preacher’s inner circle. At seventeen, she left the ministry for good, with a trove of stranger-than-fiction memories.

What did you like best about this story?

Amazing story. It had to be true, who could have made up such a story line.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Donna moved away and made peace with her life and how different it had been. It is admirable that she didn't separate herself completely from the rest of the family and that came to accept the differences.

    Any additional comments?

    Great book.

I was afraid this book would make me cry, but it did not. The topic is terribly sad, but it is told in a matter of fact way. Very good story.
