It's so nice to be told a story, but I believe some people may prefer the written version to the spoken one and nice versa.
He allowed the characters' personalities to be better imagined when read aloud.
Odd - he is just so special.
Although there are some EXTREMELY funny stories told here, very little of the narration/performance is done by either Tim Conway or Carol Burnett. I almost returned the book mid-way through the first chapter because it was so obviously being read aloud, not narrated or performed, and certainly not by Mr. Conway. If you can put aside the delivery, there are (again) many funny stories, but it was difficult for me to do so. Overall, I was very disappointed.
The subject matter itself was interesting (as the delivery was not).
I would suggest you edit the "performed by" information for this book to identify which small parts Mr. Conway and Ms. Burnett actually portray.
Yes. The characters are deep and well developed and the story-telling is superb since the author speaks his own words.
Dexter evolves in little ways in each book, but big changes are afoot in this one. Mr. Lindsay's description of the inner workings of Dexter's mind and his Dark Passenger's are sometimes chilling - does he know the material too well, you think.
Keep more coming!
I will listen to it again.
It's more a theme than a moment - the main character's enduring love for and dedication to his wife
The name is perfect.
Listen to it already!
Yes. As the storyline unrolls there are many intriguing conventions in this future society that are explained by the main character who transitioned the old ways to the new. Nicely done.
While the story itself was very good, Ms. Danes delivery was very much the icing on the cake.
No, but I would be eager to do so.
The main character was the most memorable because the story unfolds around her, although the Commander was interesting as well.
Thank you ,Audible, for arranging for Ms. Danes to perform for us.
This is a good listen, as was the first book in this series. While I am not a big fan of the more romantic aspects of the story, the rest of the plot plays out well.
It continues where "Discovery of Witches" left off. Some aspects of the storyline make it difficult to compare to other books of this genre.
Her vocal characters are consistently distinct and and not just read.
