This book is essential reading for anyone interested in popular culture, journalism, politics, comedy etc. The narrator is likely the worst possible choice the publisher could have made and I sincerely hope they re-record it, but it is still far more than worth it.
Though a tad light on the hard science, Dawkins' exemplary intelligence and passion make this a compelling read. Accessible to laymen and interesting enough to keep the attention of those who may not find biological textbooks to be utterly captivating beach reading material.
I simply cannot recommend this book enough. Objective, intelligent, scientific, and human. With a cool and steady narrative hand, Pinker accomplishes what Dawkins, whose fire is often his flaw, cannot. Necessary reading for all humans.
