Life and fate have dealt Ashley Wynter a series of cruel blows. He is bereft of the job that fulfilled him and the lover who sustained him. Summoned by a sinister anonymous message, he's lured into a twilight world of deceit, depravity, and degradation as he struggles to find out how his lover died - and why.

This might just be the worst audio book of the year. The "reader" repeats lines, stumbles on words, shuffles pages and pauses in the middle of a sentence to turn the page. A total amateur production. Was the book any good? Can't say because it was impossible to finish this.

Matthew Mercer and Harris Sandler are playing a mysterious game. It's a game almost no one knows about: not their friends, not their coworkers, and certainly not their bosses, who are some of the most powerful senators and congressmen on Capitol Hill.

    "Great political novel"
    Overall

Too often political novels are based in the White House, but this one is written to tell the interior workings of the legislative branch. The first part of the book shocks the reader, and then takes off on a fast paced and amazing adventure. I found this book to be truly enjoyable with appeal not only to political devotees but to any one who enjoys a good fast paced novel.
