Late one night, exploring her father's library, a young woman finds an ancient book and a cache of yellowing letters. The letters are all addressed to "My dear and unfortunate successor", and they plunge her into a world she never dreamed of: a labyrinth where the secrets of her father's past and her mother's mysterious fate connect to an inconceivable evil hidden in the depths of history.

    "Highly recommend"
    Overall

This is the best book I've read (or listened to) in a long time. It is smart, engrossing, and even scary at times! Anyone who likes historical novels mixed with a little fantasy will love it.

I had mixed feelings on this book. It was a totally different book than I expected. I am not sure I recommend it other than because of the twists, turns, and shock value.

    "GREAT!"

Disregard the one poor review of this book. It is well-written and keeps you listening. All the different stories are weaved together wonderfully.
