It really can be an endless summer — if you’re immortal. Though a vampire would be ill-advised to take a cruise to Bermuda, the possibilities for getting away from it all — and maybe snacking on some unsuspecting tourist — are many.

"The Sookie Stackhouse story is good but only 1hr"
    Overall

Yes I guess I should have read closer but I'm not used to Audible being so deceiving....Not worth the money if your looking for Sookie...

They killed me. They healed me. They changed me. Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was mine. I was doing fine until Chicago's vampires announced their existence to the world---and then a rogue vampire attacked me. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker...and this one decided that the best way to save my life was to make me the walking undead.

There is actually a storyline.... a "little bit" of sex but not too graphic... a lot of people don't like the Narrator but I think she does a good job... She doesn't have a huge variety of voices but you have no trouble knowing whose speaking. The story line isn't too young with most of the characters being in their late twenties early thirties .... I liked all the series and recommend them all.

When Lucifer offers to give up all the book’s secrets, Betsy is intrigued. But there’s a catch, of course. For her part of the bargain, Betsy must take her half-sister, Laura, to Hell, so Laura can develop an appreciation for her dark heritage.

I don???t even know where to start! I have read or listened to all the books in this series and loved them! They were fun and entertaining! To begin with, this installment in the series take 40 minutes to give you the back-story???. Then it rolls on and is pretty interesting???until the last chapter which ruined the series for me???. To say the least it was Disturbing??? and creeped me out so much I???m done with the series, just because It deviates so far from the original books.
If you are a fan and feel you must listen to this book: skip the first 7 chapters and think twice before listening to the final???. It???s really gruesome and involves one main character torturing another for seventy years! Miss Davidson what were you and your editors thinking!

  • Water for Elephants

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

    Kindle Customer says: "Great Narration!!"
"Hardship, animals, the magic of the circus & love."
    Overall

I was afraid this book might be a depressing read, but Ms Gruen told a tale about one of the worst times in history with a sense of hope and promise... It starts a little slow but believe me...it catches up. The ending is perfect.... Listen to this then go see the movie!

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child", Pam, are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot - which is much more complicated than she knows.

BRANDON says: "Antiques RoadShow, Burned Hair & Elvis"
"This may be the best Sookie Stackhouse book yet!"
    Overall

I'm a big Charlaine Harris fan and have enjoyed all her characters....but Sookie is my favorite. This book moves along quickly and is a fun read (listen?). You will enjoy this one....

Though a small town at heart, Lawrenceton, Georgia, has its dark side - and its crime buffs. One of them is librarian Aurora "Roe" Teagarden, a member of the Real Murders Club, which meets once a month to analyze famous cases. It's a harmless pastime - until the night she finds a member killed in a manner that eerily resembles the crime the club was about to discuss.

    Jeanie Jenkins says: "Adjusting expectations"
    "I Love this series!"
    Overall

I came to this series after reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Ms. Harris has stayed true to form in this series as well, fast paced, lovable characters, and well written. This book is entertaining in a lighthearted way that keeps you wanting more. Aurora Teagarden is a very different character than Sookie Stackhouse and this series is not based on the supernatural, but it's still quirky enough to keep you interested!

I give it a BIG thumbs up!
