Twenty years ago, four teenagers at summer camp walked into the woods at night. Two were found murdered, and the others were never seen again. Four families had their lives changed forever. Now, two decades later, they are about to change again.

This was my first audio book by Harlan Cobin and I loved it. The storyline was first rate and kept me guessing as to who did what. A great read. I highly recommend it.

  • War and Remembrance

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Would you try another book from Herman Wouk and/or Kevin Pariseau?

Yes, without a doubt. This book (and the winds of war) drew me in from the moment Kevin Pariseau began reading. The story of the Henrys and the Jastrows in the midst of World War 2 was riviting and I could not stop listening to the beautiful voice of Kevin Pariseau and thinking about the characters when I wasn't listening to it. It really brings you into that era of Nazi Germany and the alies.

What did you like best about this story?

Even though it was very difficult to listen to the horrors of the holocaust, Natalie and Aaron's journey from Sienna, all the places in between, and finally to Auschwitz was heartbreaking and inspiring as they turned to their jewish faith to help them survive. I loved everything about this book.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Pariseau’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is the best narriator that I have ever listened to.

In six minutes, one of us would be dead. None of us knew it was coming. So says Wes Holloway, a once-cocky and ambitious presidential aide, about the day that changed his life forever. On that Fourth of July, Wes put Ron Boyle, the chief executive's oldest friend, into the presidential limousine. By the time the trip came to an end, Wes was permanently disfigured, and Boyle was dead, the victim of a crazed assassin.

This book was one long bore. The main character was hard to like due to his self pitying attitude and unrealistic loyalty. He couldn't see the forest through the trees and I finally had to stop listening because I didn't care what happened to any of them.
