"So-So"
The first story is the best by far. I'm almost done listening to this book -- some stories I had to skip due to just not being able to get past the narrators. Others were just not my style. But there were a couple of good stories. All-in-all, just a so-so compilation in my humble opinion.
"Very poor ending."
When you invest 21 hours in a story, you hope for a good one. I very much enjoyed the story, until the last 30 minutes. I feel the author, who posses a beautiful descriptive quality, cut the story short and left me saying "Huh? What happened (to) ...".
Big let down. I cannot recommend this book as a result.
"Great Book!"
It's been awhile since I've been moved to write a review. Several listens lately have been rather dull. A couple I just couldn't finish. Perhaps I'll give them another shot later. This book, however, keep my attention. The writing was crisp and entertaining. The narrator, a bit overzealous at times, but very easy to listen to. Some would probably say the story was predictable, but it was still a good story.
Enjoy!
"Good Old Fun!"
Although I'm only 37, I have to say that listening to these radio shows is a real hoot! I actually wound up purchasing a couple of full sets from an online dealer. They are wonderful to listen to rather than TV or for long rides in the car. It's amazing how well the writers were (Aldrich Family/Great Gildersleeve) in those days. Even today, if you slow down and just listen, you'll likely feel as though you are there with them. Highly recommended.
"Very entertaining!"
Dean Koontz shows his humor and wonderful sense of imagination in this entertaining, well read book. Great from start to finish.
"Awesome!"
This author is sick, twisted, extremely funny and disturbing all at the same time! I enjoyed this book very much. It isn't for the faint-hearted in terms of overt sexuality and other wonderfully lude subject matter.
The narrators complimented the story very well. I won't give too much away, but olderly-sounding women discussing oral gratification makes me giggle ... Loudly!
A dark, wonderfully awful tale of how rotten humans can be!
"Still Odd!"
I listened to this book directly after Odd Thomas and must admit, I now need a break from dear 'ole Odd!
The book was good, but I didn't find it as enthrawling as the first. The next book in the series (Brother Odd) I've elected to listen to at a later date. Hopefully it will be okay.
I guess I'm ready for a horror from Dean. Or maybe I'm just not in love with Odd!!! Maybe *I* am Odd!
"Odd, indeed!"
I enjoyed this audiobook. Dean Koontz is a very talented author who brings his characters to the forefront with ease, allowing the reader/listener to really get to know them. Interested ending, too!
"Great Ghost Story."
I'd never heard of Joe Hill before, but upon learning he was Stephen King's son, was intrigued to see if the gift is in the genes. It is! This is a great ghost story, but also a great story of relationships and what people will do to keep the important ones intact.
A good listen and a wonderful first novel for Joe Hill. I look forward to reading him for years to come!
"The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree!"
Like father, like son. This collection of short stories is sick, twisted, funny and sometimes even sad all tied up in a wonderfully entertaining audiobook!
I wish Joe Hill the best and will be waiting for his next book!
