Thousands of autonomous computer programs, or daemons, make our networked world possible, running constantly in the background of our lives, trafficking e-mail, transferring money, and monitoring power grids. For the most part, daemons are benign, but the same can't always be said for the people who design them.

Charles Atkinson says: "Really Fast Paced Sci Fi!"
"Gripping techno goodness and serious ideas."
    Overall

Thank you Leo for the recommendation! This book is fantastic. Within all the fast pace action and techno goodness there are some fairly deep philosophical questions regarding our place in an era of high technology and whether or not the current political systems (Democracy, Corporatism, Fascism) can sustain society in such a future.

Daemon wraps a killer storyline around these questions and keep you entertained throughout with not a dull moment.

Well now, I'm off to get the next book Freedom (TM).

  • H.G. Wells Collected Science Fiction: The Time Machine & Stories of the Unusual

This is H.G. Wells at his best, delving into fantastic and strange worlds. The Time Machine, perhaps Wells' best known work, tells the story of the first time traveler. In the distant future the human race has evolved into two beings: the gentle Eloi and their dreaded cousins, the Morlocks, masters of the underworld.

Jacob says: "An Excellent Performance of some adequate material"
"Necessary read for your cultural literacy"

A wonderful story to listen to and I particularly enjoyed the readers tone of voice. The writers diction and story telling ability is certainly pleasant as well.
