  • How to Be a Woman

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Caitlin Moran
    • Narrated By Caitlin Moran

1913 - Suffragette throws herself under the King's horse. 1969 - Feminists storm Miss World. Now - Caitlin Moran rewrites "The Female Eunuch" from a bar stool and demands to know why pants are getting smaller. There's never been a better time to be a woman: we have the vote and the Pill, and we haven't been burnt as witches since 1727. However, a few nagging questions do remain...Why are we supposed to get Brazilians? Should you get Botox? Do men secretly hate us? What should you call your vagina?

    Sara says: "Stirring Stuff!"
    "A great listen"

  • Chill Factor: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Sandra Brown
    • Narrated By Stephen Lang

Cleary, North Carolina, is a sleepy mountain town, the kind of place where criminal activity is usually limited to parking violations. Not so, lately. Four women have disappeared from Cleary over the past two years. And there's always a blue ribbon left near the spot where each of the women was last seen. There are no bodies, no other clues, and no suspicion as to who their abductor might be. And now, another woman has disappeared without a trace.

Susan says: "I'd have peeked at the ending ..."
    "Great suspense book"

This has all of the elements to keep you interested, especially after the first few hours. There's a serial killer on the loose, a stranded female holed up with the main suspect in the killings. Throw in a bit of romance and it makes for an enjoyable read.

  • Blackwood Farm

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 38 mins)
    • By Anne Rice
    • Narrated By David Pittu
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

A story of youth and promise, of loss and the search for love, of secrets and destiny, Blackwood Farm brings together the Vampire Chronicles and the story of the Mayfair Witches, and is Anne Rice at her mesmerizing best.

K E Courchaine says: "She is back!"
    "Ann Rice at her best"

Another brilliant Rice book. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, with an open ending so you just know that there's a sequel! Her usual descriptive style brings to life the central character with such effect that I felt I was down there in New Orleans! Must have for Rice fans.

  • Dracula (Blackstone Edition)

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Bram Stoker
    • Narrated By Robert Whitfield
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In 1897, at the age of 50, Bram Stoker was touring manager to the actor Henry Irving and was enjoying a modest success as a journalist and writer. Publication in that year of Dracula was to bring him international and lasting fame.

Katrina says: "Still Scary Two Centuries Later"
    "The classic Dracula story."

A must for Dracula fans, the original Bram Stoker's Dracula. Brilliant!

  • Closed Circle

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Robert Goddard
    • Narrated By Bill Wallis

The year is 1931. The new and luxurious transatlantic liner Empress of Britain is on her eastward passage. Among the first-class passengers on board are two English confidence tricksters, making a discreet exit from a little awkwardness they have left behind them in the United States. A chance meeting on deck brings them a tempting new target in the shape of Miss Charnwood and her niece, the beautiful Diana, only child of the immensely wealthy Fabian Charnwood.

Marie says: "Robert Goddard's books are a true delight."
    "Fabulous fiction"

I'm really pleased to see that Audible are now selling Robert Goddard books. He's a brilliant storyteller, and Closed Circle is no exception. This book is set in the first half of the 20th Century, and involves a likeable conman who discovers an intriguing pre war secret financial society. Enjoy!
