The first half of this book is exciting, provocative and excellently argued. I was amazed about how the evolutionary psychology discussed could mirror my life. I had decided to buy a kindle version as well to read over. But the 2nd half was a complete disappointment. Boring, insipid and more a biography of Darwin's life, not something I had signed up for. Also the theories were now discussed in such a way as to fit into Darwin's life retrospectively.

That's why it's 2 books; the first half mind-blowing, the 2nd, contrived and boring. But just for the first half, the book is worth 4 stars.

Yes, the 1st half was un-put-down-able

The world of a cancer victim is certain drawn well and empathy with the characters is at a very high level throughout. But you just know that this is not going to end well and truly it is the little victories of the characters along the way that make this book worth the read. Also its a bit of a chick-lit, so as a guy it may be a bit too nice sometimes.

Loved it but had a few reservations. (1) A scenario where the state is all powerful and controls the lives of "ordinary" people is a scare tactic that was unnecessary and (2) that little kids as small as 8 and 10 have the ability to change the world is a little far-fetched. All the same, I enjoyed listening to it and would still recommend it for its interesting take on the future and wars

Jeremy Davidson, brings life to Steven Tyler, so much so, that when one hears the voice of the actual Tyler at the end, its a serious disappointment. The only hitch is that there is just too much talk about drugs to the point that you want to skip the part...but you cant, as Steven is all over the place and you might just miss some of his golden words in a way only Tyler can conjure. As another reviewer said, if the songs he talks about could also play alongside, this would be a book better than 5 stars. If they do take out another version with songs included, I would buy this book again. Despite these drawbacks, this is one book I would like to hear again. Also, printed autobiographies always have photographs, this should be incorporated into the audio book.

One wouldn't expect an intriguing story such as this on the making of a dictionary. In a way, you can compare the protagonist Dr Minor with today's icon Steve Jobs and wonder; does it take a person to be "mad" to be so brilliant? And in so many ways, being thus is not so bad after all.

I enjoyed this book, especially the intricacies of court practice and how the mind of a defense attorney works. Mickey, the main character, may have been a bit too sugar-coated, which is why I give the story an overall 4 star. Also the end was too convenient and wish there would have been more of an edge to it. The script was well narrated and looked forward to hearing the story on every occasion possible. Have also read Connelly's other book, "The Closers", and have now bought more of the author's books. Despite these flaws, an excellent read.

excellent setting, excellent story, it's as if u r in another world when you are listening. One can almost smell the animals and the body odour of the characters, so well was the story etched.

Written with wit and style and narrated equally well. An engaging story that I had to finish.
