Now I can't sleep wondering if the characters will reunite. I was so enthralled in the story since the first chapter I just couldn't stop reading. Jeffrey Archer is an AMAZING story teller, and the reader feels like he's right there in the pub, in the ship, in the class, and I absolutely love it to the point of maddening. Bring on the sequel Jeff and lets get answers. Great job from a great writer!
This is by far the low point of the series. Poor story, horrible Spanish accent, and I found myself waiting for the only to start a better book. I'm hoping the next gets better or I think I'll stop the series.
Call me crazy, or unappreciative of King's talent, but I just can't get beyond the first two hours. You have to be a King fan to enjoy this one. The story starts way too slow for the average book candy reader. Sorry Stephen, I liked The Shining!
This is not your Vince Flynn thriller, but equally engaging for those with a love for world history and business. I recommend this for any MBA who wants a glimpse into a side of leadership not found in HBS cases. He fathered concepts from postal services to hunting preserves and broke the bonds of nobility in favor of performance-based rewards. Loved it. Great job to the researchers and author. Now off to my CIA thrillers...
Its not the most captivating book and the characters took to long to develop. It lacked the exciting aspect of mystical thriller drama and I sadly turned it off half way through and started reading a novel. Maybe next time Erin. Or perhaps its just me and I don't get what you were trying to accomplish. None the less, hats of for getting it published and so much attention at the national level.
I could not stop listening, and even when I feel asleep at 3am, I went back the next morning and re-listened to what I thought of missed, and became even more enthralled with the story, the characters, and the ending. Without giving too much away, I fell in love with Aria myself, and the dragon ending was ice cream on the cake. Well done Chris, lets get rolling on your new project so the rest of us can stop loosing sleep for another two years. Well done, well done.
By far the best SEAL book, head and shoulder's with Lone Survivor. The personal insight into the humanitarian side, war, and the mind of a special forces soldier takes you on a personal journey with the writer across the globe. The book made me want to be better, want to fight for those who can't fight for themselves, and to help returning soldier's continue to fight the mission at home and abroad in new and innovative ways. By far the best read of 2011.
I've just gone through all of the Mitch Rapp books, and Memorial Day is by far the best, followed by American Assassin.
