Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Clearly this is a book for extreme fans of the series....

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure... I will start searching now.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ?

Steven Pacey maybe.. I am sure there are many readers who would have done a better job.

What character would you cut from A Memory of Light?

    None of them are memorable

    Any additional comments?

I read the first 8 books and my interest in the series began to lag.. I was still curious how the whole thing would end though... I thought perhaps that Sanderson would bring some new life to the story.... But no..

This is the breathtaking adventure of the great Carthaginian general who shook the foundations of Rome. In the world's first "global" conflict, Hannibal Barca marched up and down the Italian peninsula for 18 years, appearing well nigh invincible to a Rome which began to doubt itself for the first time in its history.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It needed a better pace. It also needed a clear story line. The reader was good but just not good enough to give it life.

Danny North knew from early childhood that his family was different - and that he was different from them. While his cousins were learning how to create the things that commoners called fairies, ghosts, golems, trolls, werewolves, and other such miracles that were the heritage of the North family, Danny worried that he would never show a talent, never form an "outself"....

Where does The Lost Gate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 20-30

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story is fine, although it feels a bit too scripted.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There wasn't one of those moments...

    Any additional comments?

If you like Card, you will like this book.. But it is an extension of his previous work, rather than something truly new.

The London that comes to life in Kraken is a weird metropolis awash in secret currents of myth and magic, where criminals, police, cultists, and wizards are locked in a war to bring about—or prevent—the End of All Things.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Paper-thin characters and predictable plot. I tried to like this book. It, and Brandon Sanderson, have received so many great reviews. But I just could not do it. This is exceedingly average fare.. I could not even finish it.The reader was alright--except for the Asian accent which was not convincing.

What could Brandon Sanderson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Real characters and a plot that was not so obviously scripted.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The accents were a bit much and did not fit some of the characters.

Do you think The Final Empire needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No more for me anyway..

    Any additional comments?

If you review, please be a bit more critical..
