Welcome to Moundville, where it's been raining for longer than Roy McGuire has been alive. Most people say the town is cursed-right in the middle of their big baseball game against rival town Sinister Bend, black clouds crept across the sky and it started to rain. That was 22 years ago... and it's still pouring.

From my son: The story was great and the narrator was good, too. I highly recommend this book for kids 9 & up who love baseball!

This is simply a wonderful story about friendship, consequences and growing up. A great family listen. We laughed out loud!

Just FYI - this book has some adult topics. There is a depressed grandfather, taxes to be paid, and death. A young boy facing these difficulties on his own. It is a story of what one will do for another.

Sophie discovers that giants not only exist, but that there are a great many of them who like to guzzle and swallomp nice little chiddlers. But not the Big Friendly Giant. He and Sophie cook up an ingenious plot to free the world of troggle-humping, forever.

This is a must read (or listen) for elementary school age children. Natasha Richardson gives a stellar performance that, frankly, I didn't expect. A lovely story.

My 9 year old son loved this book. He couldn't stop listening to it. It is filled with factual baseball information and the time travel aspect is a great hook. It's a "Field of Dreams" series for kids!
