WOW... I loved this book! I would liked to have tweaked the ending just a little bit, but it was still very satisfying. This was my first listen by both the author and the narrator, and they both really impressed me. It was definitely worth the credit. Bravo!!!
The narrator really made this a hard listen. She made all characters other than Sky real hard to like and it was very distracting. I might have liked the book with someone else reading it.
A different reader might help.
Maybe, but I really don't see it happening any time soon.
I can't think of anything I liked about this reader.
Not worth my time.
After listening to the entire Mercy Thompson series, narrated by the irreplaceable Lorelei King, this narrator leaves much to be desired. He makes Charles sound like a dumb jock, and his pronouncement of "Morrock" got on my last nerve. I don't know whose pronouncement is correct, but I liked Lorelei's much better. I loved the story though. I may just have to read the rest of this series the old fashioned way!
A better Narrator, Lorelei King would have been the ideal choice for me. Khristine Hvam mispronounces so many words that it makes her unbelievable as her character. Also, she does very bad voices, especially the male characters. As far as the writing, I had to skip through most of the "Beast" chapters. It was much too choppy for my taste and it got on my nerves. I really tried to like this book, but it just wasn't happening. I won't be wasting any more credits on this writer/narrator combination. If you like this Genre, the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs has this one beat hands down!
Wow ... great book all the way through, except the end, which was not very satisfying. I'd like to see story continue. I actually lost sleep because I couldn't turn it off!

This was by far my favorite Stephen King book to date. My son and I have read many of Kings works, and until this book, my favorites were Doloris Claiborne, Carrie, IT, and Needful Things. This one had all of those beat, which I didn't think would have been possible. To me, 11-22-63 was intriguing from the first paragraph, and kept my attention throughout. The narrator, Craig Wasson, brought the characters to life brilliantly, and for once, I didn't have to write down all the characters and how they tie in to each other so I could keep up with everything going on. In my opinion, King has a bad habit of writing too many characters that weave in and out in all sorts of different directions, but he refrained from doing that with this project. I enjoyed every part of this book ... Bravo Mr. King!!!
I loved listening to this book. I've never read anything by Pat Conroy. I purchased it simply because Frank Muller narrated it. I absolutely loved every minute of it. Frank Muller did a stand-up job, as usual, and the writing was first rate. I haven't seen the movie, so I had nothing to compare it to. Definitely worth the credit!
This is the best book I have read in a very long time! I can't get enough of it. I am a 51 year old white woman who has lived in the Jackson Metro area since 1972. Thankfully, I was not here during the sixties, but I do know that Kathryn Stockett has captured the very essence of what the south was all about during that very trying and shameful time in our history. I can't get over how historically accurate it is. I can't say enough about the readers either. There were only TWO mispronounced words in the whole book, which were both cities, so you can't hold that against them. I HIGHLY recommend this book! I have already listened to it twice, and plan to listen to it again before the movie comes out. IT NEEDS A SEQUEL!
This book left me, to put it nicely, extreemely frustrated and unsatisfied. I don't understand why an author feels the need to just cut things off without any sort of "ending". The readers were excellent, but Jodi Picoult will not be read by me again. I would only recommend this book to people who are trying to understand what Asperger's Syndrome is, but with a very strong warning, that you will not feel very good about it in the end.
