A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

    Overall

I really enjoyed this work, which didn't sound like it was "work" for him at all. It was fun to hear all the name drops of kids he played with that have also made such public futures for themselves.
Rob's voice is pleasant and entertaining, his impersonations impressive!
Spend an afternoon with him, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?

No way.. wasted enough time before I just shut this off.

What could E. L. James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Learn the craft of writing and not ride on mild shock value.. luckily for her the majority of society is filled with idiots and they apparently didn't know or care regarding her lack of writing skill.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I can't blame the narrator for making the lead character come across as an idiot, the lead was written that way.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I have friends that actually enjoyed this book, then they back tracked and said well the first book isn't that good but once you get to the second and third it gets better. OMG, seriously.. you don't pick up a book and struggle through it because the next editions are better.
If the writer actually had a real sex life or lived a true S&M relationship, maybe this book wouldn't have been crap!!!

  • Saving Ceecee Honeycutt

Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

    "Pleasant not riveting"
    Overall

I enjoyed the voice of Jenna Lamia more than the story itself. I didn't feel there were any surprises - other than the slug incident - and the story started out sticking to it's voice well early and then the 11/12/13 year old had far to much insight and understanding for her age.
Still a decent listen and it kept me in my garden for longer periods than if I hadn't been listening. :)
