I've read all Reacher books at least twice. Thank you Lee Child and Dick Hill for another great Reacher. This book, as well as all others, is done well with enough "who done it" mystery, well thought out with great detective work, and good character building. I think Lee Child is a GREAT writer. Added: Tom Cruise as Reacher is LUDICROUS (and I've said so at Lee Child FB). My vote for movie portrayal of Reacher is Jim Caviezel. If you like Reacher, you should check out the new TV show Person of Interest.
Puller is a similar character to Jack Reacher. The story line is similar to a Lee Child storyline. So if you like Jack Reacher kind of novel, you will like this. It's definitely not as good as Lee Child writes it and Puller isn't quite the same character as Reacher, but similar.
This was a very long read. It was interesting and it flowed well and the characters are memorable. The plot is believeable though way over the realm of normal happenings. I gave it a 3 star for story because it was LONG and part 5 was the longest.
What can I say that others have not already said? This was excellent from beginning to end.
Excellent, excellent! I'm a big fan of Jack Reacher by Lee Childs and this novel, characters, plot is made of the same stuff. Loved it!
I agree with some of the reviews: This is not his best book only 3 stars for Patterson. The story line is not up to Patterson standards, rather dull and predictable. I to believe that it seems like Patterson just wanted to get another book out there and we loyal followers bought in. I'm not saying, don't get it, just don't expect much.
The publisher writes the following "Patterson gives us his most head-spinning, action-filled story yet - a Hitchcock-like blend of unquenchable drama and pleasure"... and it's just isn't so. Like others have reviewed herein, the wirting, narration, and musical background are just plain aggevating. A novel doesn't have to be true, but unless it is syfy or fantasy, it should feel like it could happen. The activities of the policeman are something out of dusty, broken down. itty-bitty small town in Texas in the 1950s (maybe). Just an annoying read altogether. Wish I would have believed the reviews, but instead I figured this is JAMES PATTERSON, and it's got to be good. I so very wrong!
It was okay. Pretty drawn out. The last quarter of the book seem to drop off and loose it's mystery and intrigue like the writer just didn't know how to wrap it up.
PRETTY GOOD READ. I FELT LIKE OKAY, ALRIGHT, LETS GET TO THE CONCLUSION, I KNOW THE ENDING. BUT THE CHARACTERS WERE GOOD, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS TOO MUCH TIME SPENT WITH EACH.
Guess I'm tiring of Eve and Roarke's erotica .. distracts from the story line
