Ann Coulter, "pundit extraordinaire," takes a hard look at modern political discourse. Refreshingly honest, unerringly timely, Coulter lashes into liberals and demonstrates how the media obfuscates the issues, belittles the right and praises the left. Her outspoken manner has made her one of the most fascinating women in politics, according to George magazine. Don't miss C-SPAN's Booknotes: Ann Coulter's Slander.

The more conservative you are, the more liberal the media appears. The more liberal you are, the more conservative the media appears. In any case, no decent person lies nor embraces the lie and the liar.

I enjoyed hearing Ann's point of view. I know her facts are accurate because I remember seeing and hearing much of the recent news coverage she discusses. It was helpful to have her point of view to put it into perspective.

I don't like many of the people she talks about but before it was just a gut feeling. Now I feel justified.

In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson selected his personal secretary, Captain Meriwether Lewis, to lead a voyage up the Missouri River, across the forbidding Rockies, and - by way of the Snake and the Columbia rivers - down to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and his partner, Captain William Clark, endured incredible hardships and witnessed astounding sights. With great perseverance, they worked their way into an unexplored West. When they returned two years later, they had long since been given up for dead.

Undaunted Courage brought alive many details about the Lewis and Clark "Corps of Discovery". I gained a better understanding of the political mind of Jefferson and political thought of the time; specifically from the colonists' perspective but with plenty of opportunity to see things from the natives' perspective. I also gained a better understanding of the logistics involved and what the expedition encountered.

I was taken in by the story and even looked forward to my commute.
