I just finished "Steve Jobs" and will probably go back and listen again on my iPod. I did not have a problem with the narration as some seemed to have. He wasn't trying to impersonate Steve Jobs or anyone else. He was narrating a book.
I feel Isaacson did a great job of capturing the essence of a man who was like a wisp of smoke, sometimes dark and heavy sometimes light and airy. I will never again pick up an Apple product without thinking of the man behind the company.

I read the reviews, and was interested in the subject matter. I could listen to Scott Brick read a menu, so I didn't see how I could go wrong, I wasn't. John M. Barry told the story of the 1918 Influenza pandemic, in vivid detail, and of course Scott Brick was true to form in his narration. And, I will never miss a year getting my flu shot again.

I am a huge fan of Rutherfurd, I love big books and history. I did listen to Russka twice back to back to firmly implant the family names in my mind, and I found I enjoyed it more the second time around. The book gave me a little different view of Russian history than I had. All I can say is, it has to be good to listen to it twice. I found the narration of Wanda McCaddon very good as well. I had enjoyed her in Sarum.

Kevin Pariseau again is outstanding in his narration. I am old enough to vaguely remember WWII. I remember seeing newsreels of prisoners being shot, pictures of the concentration camps. I now feel like I have been there. By the time you are finished reading (listening) to this book each character is a person you know well, I read the hard cover of this book years ago and loved it, but the audio version is so superior. After 50 some hours later of listening, I was very sad to have it end and actually went back several chapters and listened again.

I, as many others read this book in the hard cover, I watched the mini series as well. The audio version surpasses all. I loved it...I'm a avid history buff, will read most anything to do with history. The detail is fantastic, you feel you know the characters.
The narration is great, Kevin Pariseau is probably one of the best, he does women, you know who they are without being told, he sings as well. I'm so happy to have this book in my library. Now I will listen to War and Remembrance.

If you love history, if you love long books, you will love Sarum. It was the first Rutherfurd book I read and have since read everything he has written. I absolutely do not have a problem with Wanda McCaddon's narration, I think she did a phenomenal job of reading and you must remember she was reading the book. If you get bored with long books of history this one is probably not for you, however, I listened to it twice, and found it was easier to keep the families straight through the name changes, on the second listen.

It has got to the point where you need to read the Lord John books to understand the Outlander Series. How could you not like Lord John, and as others have said this book fills in some of the gaps in Jamie's life while Claire was gone. The narration definitely left a lot to be desired. Davina Porter is the voice of voice of Ms Gabaldon, in fact I would rather listen to Davina Porter than Diana G., Diana do the writing and Davina Porter do the reading, best of both. You will not be disappointed with the book.

I read the written version of this book about 15 years ago and it was one that stayed with me. Some books are read and forgotten, this is one I guarantee you will not soon forget. I was so happy when I found the audio version (unabridged thank goodness), because every step of Mary Ingles journey is detailed. Not necessarily for the faint of heart or one who insists on being politically correct. It shows the savagery of the indians but also gives some insight as to why. If you are a history buff you will definately enjoy this book. David Drummond was very good as the narrator. As you can see I have given it five stars....I will definately listen to it again.

The only disappointment I have with this book is; how long we will have to wait to get on with the story. I liked Pillars of the Earth and World Without End better but that is mainly because of the period of which they were written. Follett's style and John Lee's narration make listening to audio a joy.

I bought this book because I had heard so much about it, there are several 5 star ratings and Scott Brick is one of my favorite narrators. I love long books, should be a no brainer...you're going to love this book...WRONG...I am now over half finished listening to it and it is the saddest most depressing book I have ever listened to, and it just goes on and on. If I listen to it while trying to go to sleep, I have nightmares.
