"A book a listen to time and time again. Love it!"
I really loved this book, both the story and narration. I got so emotionally connected to the characters and the story hooked me completely. It is rare for me to get so attached to characters that I get choked up, but it happened to me more than once.
"One of my favorites. Excellent narrators!!"
Don't let the title of this book scare you away. I absolutely loved this book. This is one of those books that compelled me to look up the actual history for the period because I found it so interesting. The narration is in my opinion among the top 5 in all the 300 plus books I have bought through Audible.
"Loved this book!"
I absolutely loved this book. Initially I was hesitant to even purchase the book because of the title, but I am so glad I did. I really enjoyed being transported back to the depression era and learning through the book a little bit of what it was like for some people then. I also loved that it made me think a lot about the way we treat the elderly, especially in our culture. We always forget that they were young once too. I also saw the movie, which I liked, but the book has so much more to offer.
"This book was so much fun!!"
This book was such a fun read. I loved the light romance and over the top funny moments. I made the mistake of listening to this at work, and caught myself cracking up several times. Amanda Ronconi does a great job with the narration.
"Witty and fun book."
I thought this book was so much fun. I love a book like this that can make me laugh out loud. The dialog between the characters and the interactions with Fred cracked me up. Susan Ericksen did a really great job with the narration. Loved it!
"The best of the series!"
This book was my favorite of the Phy-Changeling series. The world Nalini Singh has created is very interesting. I thought Angela Dawe did a good job with the narration.
"Great start to the Hathaway series!!"
I really enjoyed the story and characters in this first installment of the Hathaway series. I really love historical romance novels, and Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorites. Rosalyn Landor did an excellent job of narrating. This one is a keeper for sure.
"Loved this book!!"
Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite authors in this genre. I absolutely loved this book and the characters of Charles and Anna. I would recommend reading the short story in On the Prowl (not yet available through Audible) which introduces the characters and the story. You'll get a lot more out of this story if you know the history of the two main characters. This is a great addition for Mercy Thompson fans.
"Really fun book, with excellent narration."
I love Julie Garwood's historicals, and was so happy that this one was narrated by Rosalyn Landor. She is one of my favorite narrators, and does the different accents brilliantly. Many of JG's books are narrated by Ann Flosnik, who is not my favorite. Overall, the book was a fun and entertaining read.
"Very interesting with great narration."
I really enjoyed this book. It is always fun to listen to a story that has really well researched historical facts turned into fiction. Alison Weir is one of the best at this. Rosalyn Landor, as usual, did an excellent job with the narration. She is one of my favorites.
