  • Heads in Beds: A Reckless Memoir of Hotels, Hustles, and So-Called Hospitality

Jacob Tomsky has worked in hotels for more than a decade, doing everything from valet parking to manning the front desk. He's checked you in, checked you out, separated your white panties from the white bed sheets, parked your car, tasted your room service, cleaned your toilet, denied you a late check out, given you a wake-up call, eaten M&Ms out of your mini-bar, laughed at your jokes, and taken your money. And in Heads in Beds, he pulls back the curtain on the hospitality business.

A great audio book that accompanied me in a long train journey. It was easy to follow and very well read by the author. For frequent travelers, this book is indeed a sneak peak behind the scenes of the many hotels we visit. I would recommend this one as one of the best audio books I have purchased.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Great plot and great readers. I could not stop, and when the book ended I felt deeply abandoned... I have to say though, that at the end it felt like things just sped up to an easy ending. With such a superb and detailed story, I felt the writer could have kept going. Or maybe a volume two?
This audio book really felt like a movie. It kept me company in a beach vacation, then back to my routine. Loved it. My favorite audio book so far.
