Country bred Lucy Craddock-Hayes is content with her quiet life, until the day she trips over an unconscious man - a naked unconscious man - and loses her innocence forever. Viscount Simon Iddesleigh was nearly beaten to death by his enemies. Now he's hell-bent on vengeance. But as Lucy nurses him back to health, her honesty startles his jaded sensibilities - even as it ignites a desire that threatens to consume them both. Yet as his honor keeps him from ravishing her, his revenge sends his attackers to her door.

This story was good, as are ALL of Elizabeth Hoyt's, but the Raven Prince and the Leopard Prince had better stories. Moira Quirk was incredible as always! If you've read the above two books, this is worth adding to your library.

To escape her cruel stepfather, seamstress Alexandra Cogsworth envisioned sailing far from England…though not as a captive aboard a pirate’s ship. Pirate captain Nathaniel Kent’s strategy for exacting revenge on his coldhearted father involved taking a valuable hostage…not a seamstress he mistakenly thinks is his half sister. Yet fate has designs of its own, landing them both on board the Royal Vengeance. At sea, Nathaniel intercepts and plunders his father’s ships, all the while tormented by his illicit hunger for the tempting prisoner he thinks is his blood relation.

I enjoyed this book. There were a few too many trials and tribulations. I would have liked more character development.

This book had an interesting storyline. Like the other books in the series, the middle of the book drags a little. The series draws you in, and it is enjoyable to read about this family. I think there could have been a lot more character development in this story. I was not totally in tune with the characters' thoughts and feelings.

A duke must choose wisely.... Leopold Dautry, the notorious Duke of Villiers, must wed quickly and nobly - and his choices, alas, are few. The Duke of Montague's daughter, Eleanor, is exquisitely beautiful and fiercely intelligent. Villiers betroths himself to her without further ado. After all, no other woman really qualifies. Lisette, the outspoken daughter of the Duke of Gilner, cares nothing for clothing or decorum. She's engaged to another man, and doesn't give a fig for status or title.

The narrator is great! This Duke really grew on me as I read the books (I won't even try to spell it). I liked the female lead as well. Lisette was so annoying! (as she should be)
Don't start with this one. You need to hate this Duke for a while to appreciate his good side. Start with An affair before Christmas.

Wedding bells celebrating the arranged marriage between the lovely Duchess of Beaumont and her staid, imperturbable duke had scarcely fallen silent when a shocking discovery sent Jemma running from the ducal mansion. For the next nine years she cavorted abroad, creating one delicious scandal after another (if one is to believe the rumors). Elijah, Duke of Beaumont, did believe those rumors. But the handsome duke needs an heir, so he summons his seductive wife home.

This narrator is like an old friend. I'm glad she's done all the books in the series (that I've listened to, at least). This was not the best in the series. Slow to start, it got more interesting later on. Maybe it's because you see part of this story in the previous books of the series. My favorites of the series are An Affair Before Christmas and A Duke of Her Own.

After one uncharacteristically wicked night, the once reckless Eleanor Bracewell-Lowen now leads a safe and prudent life. On his return to London's high society, Lord Cristo Wellingham looks different from the man she knew so briefly in Paris, but he is still as magnetic... In his cold amber eyes Eleanor detects something she has seen mirrored in her own - longing. His touch invites passion, but this is a man who could destroy her good name with just one glance....

I enjoyed this whole series. Only the second two books are available on audible. I had slight misgivings with the initial premise of the book, but I enjoyed the character development and poignancy of longing. The narrator of this book grew on me.
