Would you listen to Boundaries again? Why?

Yes!! This is an absolutely great book. I read it years ago. About a year ago, a friend mentioned it and shared her experience with it so we decided to do a bookstudy. This book has great realistic examples and advice on setting boundaries with family, friends, children, coworkers, and even yourself. It even gives biblical scripture as a reference. This is a great book. It helped me a lot!!!

What other book might you compare Boundaries to and why?

I can't think of another Boundaries book that was a precise and beneficial as this one.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Sherri finally got some peace of mind by giving other people rightful responsibility for their lives.

What if you could profoundly change your life just by becoming more mindful of your breathing? According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, you can. What if "paying attention on purpose and non-judgmentally" could improve your health? Again, according to Dr. Kabat-Zinn, it can.

What would have made Mindfulness for Beginners better?

This book is not my favorite. I feel like the author didn't do a good job of making his point or getting the audience to understand the subject matter.

Has Mindfulness for Beginners turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator was very flat, monotone, and a bit boring. The book kept losing my attention. I only kept it because I was looking for some hint of understanding. That is actually all I got: "a hint of understanding."

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

This book is like a bad movie that you've heard a lot of hype about so you go see and you sit through it but you're pretty disappointed.

Would you listen to The Battlefield of the Mind again? Why?

I do believe that this is my absolute favorite spiritual/religious book of all time. This book helped to me under stand that we are under spiritual attack and the devil wants our mind but we have to refute false teachings and anything that does not agree with the Word of God. This book gives excellent examples and scripture to back up the teaching.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I think if I would've listened to this book in one sitting I would've missed something. Although this is an enjoying book, for me, it is also a teaching book. I learned a lot from this book. I even bought it for a friend and got the teenage version for my daughter. This book gives clarity and understanding which is what people often lack.

We all come into this world full of promise and possibility. For some, when born into a healthy and highly functional family, the journey is quite easy, with guideposts and directions given freely. However, that is a very small population of people. Most of us were born into families that were in their own way struggling for independence, accomplishment, safety, or security. For the millions of people who grew up in painful families, whether by absent parents, abusive parents, or those who were ill-equipped, noted therapist Sharon Wegscheider-Cruse shows that they do not have to follow a family tradition of compulsion.

Would you listen to Learning to Love Yourself, Revised & Updated again? Why?

This book was very beneficial to me. I have a physical copy and downloaded the audio copy. This is a self-help book that I refer to over and over again. This book is very gook at helping people to overcome skewed or mistaken beliefs that we have about ourselves and helps us on the journey to recover and love ourselves. I have told two friends about this book, and both went out to buy it. I can remember showing my book to one lady while we were having breakfast, and she couldn't put it down. She later shared with my that she purchased the book. The other lady bought the book and works on in with her sponsor in a 12-step recovery program. This book can be life-changing if you allow it to be.
