this one was much better than the first book. honestly I couldn't stop listening. I still hate Malachi's accent, But I can look past it.
started slow. a struggle to listen to in the early chapter. about half way through it gets better. the narrator's accents are kind of bad and all sound the same. the leading male role is supposed to have a sexy Slavic accent. it wasn't sexy at all and sounded like a bridge between Chinese and Spanish mix. weird. I am going to give book 2 a try.
I had to restart the book several times. it is a slow starter, but once I got into the later chapters the action and plot picked up. I may listen to another one. The narration was good. He is great at doing different voices.
this might be better than book 1. heart poundingly suspenseful! nonstop action. well written. can't wait For book 3
I can't put into words how wonderful this story is. The story is masterful! The narration is perfect, engaging, and nail biting! I have listened to the story 4 times now!
great narration! Bellmore brings the characters to life! Story seemed a little rushed. Seems like sex was used as a filler.
First of all I love Thea Harrison. I enjoy her books because they are true paranormal romances and not just a lame excuse to write soft porn. This book does not disappoint. I love the characters. It is a fresh take on the elder races. It brings to the forefront characters that were just in the background. I felt this book also delve more into the overall functioning of the imaginary world she has created. She really took time to develop the lead characters so that their romance made sense. There was much more story in this book than sex. For those that love them, don't worry there are plenty of steamy scenes. I love the entire series of these books, and this one adds beautifully to the crazy world of the elder races. Give it a try. The narrator as always is excellent. I love her voices. She brings the characters to life and is never corny!
This book has been a long time coming. Earlier books in the series have built up to this moment. I found the book to be very good. I enjoyed the incredible storyline. I love how nalini includes the characters from previous books. I can invision the psy-changeling world in my mind. The book is a little slow to build, but worth the wait. Even though I realize this is fiction, some of the powers seemed a little too over the top for me. Even in fiction, one likes to imagine that certain things could *possibly* happen. This book is important to the series as a whole. It is worth the credit.
I loved this book. A great thing about it is that it has a wonderful plot with sublplots. It is written very well. It is an actual good story, not just blatent useless soft porn. I hate when books are filled with sex scene after sex scene with no real literary substance. This book is excellent and I can't wait until book 5. Please let there be a book 5!
This book which is #3 in the Royal House of Shadows book series is the best! The first one, Lord of the vampires was awful and had some of the worst narration I have ever heard. Book 2 was okay. But this book #3 I actually enjoyed. The story was great, characters awesome, narrator was perfect. She really brought the characters to life. This book has made me excited for the last in the series.
