Five years with Audible and my first review.

This book is excellent. It is exciting as a novel and I learned a great deal about Jack London.

The best part about this experience was the narration by Bronson Pinchot. His performance brought the book to life. I am only sorry he has a just a few books he has narrated.

Overall, I was very sad for the book to end. What a short but exciting life London lived. He crammed 4 or 5 lives in one short lifetime, and each is brought to life by the author and narrator. Do yourself a favor and get this.

A great book

I enjoyed hearing about what life was like in the 1920s Paris and the interactions Hemingway had with other famous writers.

The is the original, unchanged version of the book. The narration was wonderful and the book really sucks you in. Hemingway looks back, sometimes in regret, at the beginning of his literary career.

I normally like a Stephen King book read by Stephen King, but John Slattery, who narrated here was wonderful. The story was good, that built in intensity and was a mix of humor, sadness and horror. The narration really brought the book to life.

Mark Lenard (who plays Sarek in Star Trek) does an outstanding narration on this story. The audiobook is definitely abridged but still an enjoyable 3 hours or so.

I have started and restarted this review several times. I don't want to gush, but . . . Will Patton is as incredible a narrator as he is an actor. In fact, this will seem like a movie in your head. There are many, many characters, but with Will's narration, you will recognize each voice -- even without a "Gus said'. I read this book years ago, and thought it an ok read, but, with Will Patton's narration, it brings it up to one of my favorites. I just wish he read the entire series.

I enjoyed this book. It has a great mix of characters, horror and mysterious plot. Mr. Kings writing is excellent. For example, one of the main characters seems to get himself into bad situations, and it's Mr. King's expert writing that makes you feel very uncomfortable for the character as he seems so real. Edward Hermann's narration was enjoyable.

I have so say, I amost didn't make it past the first chapter -- Man, it is slow. Once I got past it, I loved pretty much everything after it. Garrison Keillor reads it like a champ. I have listened to it many times, and still laugh at the residents of Lake Wobegon. If you can get past the first chapter, I think you will like this book, too.

I liked this book. It has a nice mix of good people type characters, flawed characters and some not so nice folks. I loved the narration and wish all Mr. King's books were narrated by him. It's like spending time with an old friend.

I enjoy Ayn Rand's work, especially on audio. I have listened to Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead many times. Each of these are epic in scope (and volume, A. S. is over 50 hours!) I couldn't even finish this. I don't know if it was the narrator or the the style of the writing, which isn't strictly written as if she spoke it in a series, but from what I understood much was culled from other sources beside study groups. I waited a long time for this as it dropped from Audible for a while. It came back, I got it, and boy, do I ever regret it.

Although I have not seen most of Rob Lowe's work, I thought this was a really interesting read. Rob reads it and does a fine job. I felt like he was in the room talking to me like an old friend. If you are a fan of 80's movies or not, I think you will enjoy this audiobook. You will hear names that you will recognize and stories that will make you raise your eyebrows, make you laugh, and even bring a tear. I was sorry the book had to end. I hope one day there is a sequel.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan, going all the way back to The Shining, but I didn't care for this book. It was a horror book that really didn't rely on much supernatural, but the horror that resides in people. Murder, death, rape, tragedy . . . this is about all this book was about. It's a well written Stephen King book, don't get me wrong, but if I wanted to read/hear about this kind of terror, all I have to do is watch Nancy Grace and see the very worst in man -- Full Dark, No Stars. I'm sorry Mr. King, I know you put a lot of work into this. I am really looking forward to 11/22/63.
