One hundred years ago, scientists would have said that lasers, televisions, and the atomic bomb were beyond the realm of physical possibility. In Physics of the Impossible, the renowned physicist Michio Kaku explores to what extent the technologies and devices of science fiction that are deemed equally impossible today might well become commonplace in the future.

The epilogue is the most interesting part to me. Perhaps I was looking for a more scientific book. This really is just kind of Deep Thoughts with some physics explanation thrown in. But without some background in physics it would be hard to follow.

So it's not scientific enough and too casual at the same time.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

First off Raul the narrator was awesome. He tackled and conquered the vast array of characters in this King novel.

The character, Big Jim's voice will forever be etched in my memory of this book. Man I hate him.

This was the first fictional audio book I listened to and like any good book I found it impossible to put down.

If you can set aside the 30 something hours it is well worth it.
