At 31, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At 29, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about the boy who long ago stole her heart. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. Would you listen to The Wise Man's Fear again? Why?

Yes! The story captures your attention immediately and the narration is great!
Once you start listening to it, it is hard to stop. It kept me awake until crazy hours in the night.

Have you listened to any of Nick Podehl’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, The name of the wind. The narration is great in both books.

    Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to Day 3 narrated by the same Nick Podehl.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena live, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge....

After having read the reviews of the final book of this trilogy, I was reluctant to buy it. I am glad I did buy it as it proved to be a great book with a great ending. I do not enjoy sad endings. But I did not find the ending of Mockingjay gloomy, quite the opposite. Despite the destruction and loss in a world driven by hunger for power, the two hearts destined to be together find each other and build a hopeful feature where children learn from the mistakes of the past. I was neither on the “Gale” nor the “Peeta” team, but I do believe the strongest love won.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Lizzie Nichols has a problem, and it isn't that she doesn't have the slightest idea what she's going to do with her life or that she's blowing what should be her down payment on a cute little Manhattan apartment on a trip to London to visit her long-distance boyfriend, Andrew.
