I'm halfway though this one, and it still doesn't seem like it's started yet. The plot moves very slow, characters and scenes almost seem too detailed. I can't get enough motivation to continue to listen. Michael Kramer's narration was wonderful.
I loved the first book in the series. I listened every minute that I got a chance. I can't get get up the gumption to finish this one.
I haven't found one yet.
No. However, I'm willing to try the third book.
This was an great story. It kept my attention. However, at times, the story was difficult to follow in regards to keeping the two main characters straight, in-line with their childhood selves. This made for some confusion and caused me to give up making sense of it during certain parts of the story.
Paula Hawkins is a fantastic writer. Written in a first person voice, one begins to completely identify with each of the characters and truly understand their perspective of the situation. The plot was complex and thoroughly explored. You will never guess the ending. The ending is satisfying, leaving the reader with no questions.
The narrators are excellent. However, their voices are subtly different, enough so to distinguish one character from the other.
I hated to get out of the car and turn the book off. I definitely lost a lot of sleep, trying to get to the next chapter. Definitely worth the money or credit!!!
If you like the movies Deliverance, Chernobyl Diaries, or Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you will love this book! The book includes mindless horror, bloody scenes, and a dramatic actor as narrator. You are actually there in the Roosevelt Manson. Read! Read! Read!
