Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan knows magic - earth, ley line, even the forbidden demon magic - and that knowledge has saved her life more than once. But now something - or someone - is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong while living vampires attack humans and Inderlanders alike. The pressures build when the city is quarantined to contain the unreliable magic, and Rachel must stop the attacks before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war.

I really enjoyed the series even through I had my doubts at one point. I am not sure if I missed it but I didn't really see where what happened to Glenn especially why he was acting strange and everyone felt he knew something but wasn't saying. I would like to know what actually happened

    Story

I am not saying anything everyone else has not said but I found it very difficult listening to words pronounced so drastically different. Some words I can understand but when you mispronounce Beta (fish), I was done. Good thing it was towards the end of the book. She read one part for Quen saying he spoke in a gravely voice that didn't sound anything gravely. Ivy sounds more like a frat girl than a sultry seductress. I think it should be Audible's practice to have narrators include on every book they read a list of all characters, places, etc listed in the character's dialects to have some consistency when switching narrators.

Former bounty hunter Rachel Morgan has it pretty good. She has left the corrupt Inderland Runner Service and started her own independent service. She's survived werewolves, shape-changing demons, bad-hair days, and sharing a church with her vampire roommate, Ivy. She even has a cute (if human) boyfriend - what more could a witch want? But living with a reformed vampire isn't all it's cracked up to be.

    Story

I thought the storyline was good and a bit unpredictable which is always a good thing. It doesn't impact the story or my rating for the performance especially because it was a easy mistake to make but the narrator mistakenly said "FBI" instead of "FIB" in the quote from Quinn during the fight. Trent seems could be a descent person however, since Rachel witnessed him actually killing keeps you from wondering if he wasn't misjudged.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

The book and story was great. The Narrator is promising but needs some polishing. Everyone that had an Irish accent sounded like an old person. And in some parts when I think the character was supposed to sound strong, she portrayed it by yelling such as when spells were cast, etc. Other than that, she was good so I feel she does have potential. Loved the story and look forward the rest of it. It would be wonderful is Nora Roberts wrote more along these lines.

All I can say it is was just ok. Nothing I can say specifically but even books that I find predictable hold my interest better than this one did. I never felt the need to know what happened next. If I had left the book midway through I would have never given it another thought which is not like me. I didn't dislike it really, just didn't do much for me unfortunately.

    Story

The story line was great as always and Sherrilyn is a fantastic writer but her stories are getting to the point of vulgar and way too much TMI. I really could have done without the overwhelming examples and explicit details of men raping other men. It would have been much better to leave some things to the imagination. She is very good and would love to read more of her books but I won't be reading anymore like these which disappoints me at the same time since I like the series. It's books like this that reinforces my belief that books need every bit of the ratings that movies and magazines do.

The entire series if very good. I love fantasy book but Michelle Saga has a exceptional imagination. Not only that but throughout the entire series, it has no sex and very limited profanity further demonstrating her writing talent. Not that I am a prude, I am not but it is an exceptional writer that write a good book/movie without those things. Kristine Hvam does a wonderful job narrating it.

The story drags quite a bit and the narrator is not as good. Most of the people sound like old smokers and many sound alike. I have mostly lost interest. It is not bad but each book has lost a little more. It may be that the first book was so good, it sets the expectations for the others that it just doesn't meet.
