If you could sum up Cape Refuge in three words, what would they be?

Intriguing, exciting and performance... I loved this book and the characters. Can't say enough about the narrator Renee, she's great to listen to and She has these characters down, not missing a beat with emphasis. Love the storyline and the use of characters. Couldn't stop listening and can't wait for more...

A summer at his grandparents' South Dakota ranch is not 11-year-old Cooper Sullivan's idea of a good time. But things are a bit more bearable now that he's discovered the neighbor girl, Lil Chance, and her homemade batting cage. Even horseback riding isn't as awful as Coop thought it would be. Each year, with Coop's annual summer visit, their friendship deepens from innocent games to stolen kisses, but there is one shared experience that will forever haunt them: the terrifying discovery of a hiker's body.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was okay but I have to say Lil's character and the way she treated Cooper was very annoying. Her un forgiveness and the narrators irritating whining to portray the character almost made me stop listening many times.I do like Nick as a narrator but Lil in the story was just too much. The verbal words, attitude and nature of Lil's character is on the verge of verbal abuse towards a man. We teach women all the time not to put up with this type of behavior from men but yet this book makes it seem its ok for women to be verbally cruel to men. Just didn't enjoy the attitude between the main characters, Lil and Cooper. The scorned woman attitude just kept up for way too long. This could have been a great love story as well as a thriller had the redundancy been kept minimal.I did enjoy the mystery part of it but it was a bit predictable.Love Nora so we will forgive this book and continue on... :)

His mother, Barbara, looks for help from Kent Harlan - the man whom she secretly, reluctantly loves and who once helped rescue her daughter from a mess of her own. What did you love best about Vicious Cycle?

The storyline is good, okay suspense. Too much repetition of certain parts of the story over and over to different characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jordon, wanted to just shake her and help her. Wanted to kidnap Grace myself and keep her, lol.

How could the performance have been better?

I absolutely disliked this narrator. She was boring and very inconsistent with her characters. Over exaggerating at times the accents. I hated Kent's character, made him sound stupid. I almost stopped listening to this book because of her and won't listen to anymore with her as the narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, only because of the narrator.

In the fourth book of the Cape Refuge Series, a teenage girl is found murdered, and the scene matches one in a book by a famous mystery writer who just moved to the island. This murder has a connection to Hanover House, and the residents there might never be the same.

Where does Breaker's Reef rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I am fairly new to audiobooks but with my hour drive to and from work, I love these. Makes my drive so much more bearable, hardly notice the distance.

I want more of this series..just love the characters. The storyline is wonderful, full of suspense.

Love Renee Raudman, narrator. She does just enough to differentiate the characters and make them real.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how the characters have grown throughout the books and how I'm just as interested in their relationships as I am the mystery... Just enough to keep you coming back for more...

Which character – as performed by Reneé Raudman – was your favorite?

I love Blair and Cade... What an odd mix and match but how perfect they really are. Such real characters. Blair's attitude has grown on me and I find myself laughing out loud.

Who was the most memorable character of Breaker's Reef and why?

    Same as above

    Any additional comments?

A lot of Christian reference which I don't mind but should be mentioned..

    Where is the next one?
