    The story carries you to France and gives you afeeling of what it is like to live there. A glimpse of the people, the food, and wine of one of my favorite places in the world. Mayle has a great feeling for France, and expresses it well in his books. The narrator held my interest, and also did a good job of expressing the tone of the book.
