I don't know what is better, the amazing Gabra Zackman narrating in her signature "Sophie Katz" voices, seamlessly transferring from character to character without missing a beat...or the whitty dialogue of both the primary story, and the chapter beginning quotes.

This book made me laugh out loud many times and it was a quick, fun listen that kept you guessing on who the villians were all throughout.

Definately recommend! Listen to them all if you haven't already, this one was worth the wait!

This was a wonderful listen, with great narration from Carmen Rose. She captures male voices well, and despite 10+ characters, she did a great job moving seamlessly from one to another.

I am not the kind of reviewer to recap the entire story, suffice to say - this rough-around-the-edges Lord has the fight of his life with his childhood friend/secret sweetheart. The hero really shows his fierce loyalty, devotion and protection of the heroin and is so passionate about it. It was nice to see him rooting for her so fervently.

Often in romances, they fall in love in 2 chapters, which is unrealistic even for us hopeless romantics. What I loved about this is that it was a very believable story of love that grew since childhood, which made the friendship and romance scenes that more realistic and special.

Steamy is an understatement once the bodice comes off, whew! Overall, great story, great narration, absolutely worth a credit. Here is hoping that Clio's little sister get's her own happy ending in the next book of The Castles Ever After Series.

London, 1823: A handsome duke. His beautiful soon-to-be duchess. A whirlwind courtship. It is this author's privilege to report on the event all of London is talking about: The upcoming wedding of the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon to the only daughter of the Duke of Richmond. Every detail of the "Wedding of the Year" will be reported in these pages as a London Weekly exclusive. But I, Miss Sophie Harlow, must confess to a secret infatuation with this "double duke" that can only lead to trouble.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Writing Girls series by Maya Rodale, narrarated by Carolyn Morris! This book features all the things you'll love about the series: whitty writing, clever, intelligent and independant women; an impossible match; the unlikliest of loves and a big, red bow at the end!

Not sure which came first, but this book constantly reminded me of the movie The Wedding Planner throughout. Because of that, I couldn't give it a full 5 stars, but it was a great read.

As with most audio books, narration can make or break a book and in this case, Carolyn brings the vibrant, funny and creative story to life with her seemless transition to characters, her ability to capture at least 10 different characters without skipping a beat and each having their own sense of identity. She really is a gem.

I highly recommend this book and this series, and this author....and this narrarator! Worth the credits all day long!

For ages, it seems, advice columnist Annabelle Swift has loved Derek Knightly, editor-owner of the London Weekly, from a distance. Determined to finally attract her boss's attention, she seeks advice from her loyal readers, who offer Annabelle myriad suggestions, from lower-cut bodices (success!) and sultry gazes (disaster!) to a surprise midnight rendezvous (wicked!). Derek never really took note of his shy, wallflower lady writer. But suddenly she's exquisite, and he can't get Annabelle out of his mind!

I love the Hathaways and each year I re-listen. The incomparable Rosalyn Landor is the leading historical narrarator in my opinion, and coupled with the author's flawed and loveable misfit family - this book is my favorite of them all, of all of hers actually.

An emotionally damaged soldier, a loving, caring and unconvential girl who sees the bright side of life and who heals the souls of all she touches, animal or human - make this story such a delight.

The writing and banter is so whitty, the emotions so real, and having followed Beatrix's antics for the past few books, it was a wonderful fitting conclusion to this series.

5 stars, well done and worth listening to each year. *Lisa's Best*

The giant Highlander is a self-proclaimed bachelor who has sworn for years that there isn't a woman in all of Scotland worth shaving his beard for, and for good reason. Years ago, after a bonny young lass broke his heart and left his dignity in shreds, he swore never again to put it in such peril. As a testament to his sincerity, he vowed never again to shave his beard. Then he met her.

The dynamic duo of Suzan Tisdale's writing and Brad Wills narration has captivated me once again. I am still in awe how the narrator goes from a small child to a 7 foot tall giant, with a host of characters in between without the listener even realizing the change is taking place it's so well done. The story of the gentle giant and the resilient heroin who captures his heart is very endearing. The same lovable Highlanders we have seen in the previous Caln MacDougall series' are all there and a welcome return.

Absolutely worth the credit! Well done!

Sebastian Malheur is the most dangerous sort of rake: an educated one. When he’s not scandalizing ladies in the bedchamber, he’s outraging proper society with his scientific theories. He’s desired, reviled, acclaimed, and despised - and he laughs through it all. Violet Waterfield, the widowed Countess of Cambury, on the other hand, is entirely respectable, and she’d like to stay that way. But Violet has a secret that is beyond ruinous, one that ties her irrevocably to England’s most infamous scoundrel: Sebastian’s theories aren’t his. They’re hers.

I truly enjoyed this historical romance! Only Courtney Milan could make the inheritance of traits interesting! The characters, favorites since the first in the series are colorful, endearing and thetheir relationships and stories are believable and at times painful. The journey is a scientific delight, the ending worth the struggles and wait. The parts about Rakus Erectus and associated scientific names cracked me up! But the author's note at the end had me bursting into tears...the historic representation of the Violets of the world and untold stories touched me. This book took extraordinary research, it shows. Worth the credits, and Rosalyn Landor is flawless as usual.

Welcome to Spindle Cove, where the ladies with delicate constitutions come for the sea air, and men in their prime are..nowhere to be found. Or are they? Spindle Cove is the destination of choice for certain types of well-bred young ladies: The painfully shy, young wives disenchanted with matrimony, and young girls too enchanted with the wrong men; it is a haven for those who live there. Victor Bramwell, the new Earl of Rycliff, knows he doesn't belong here.

This is a well written book in terms of characters, scenery, and witty dialog. However, I found myself drifting off during many parts that didn't keep my attention. I love historical romance and this is worth a credit, but the plot is not a great suspensful page turner. It is a light, romantic fair and a funny story about "spinster cove". I think I will give the second book a chance however.
