Very well written and performed. An engrossing story that I am thoroughly glad I purchased.
I love this book! It is original, funny, and charming. I find myself going back to it time and time again. Rosalyn Landor is (as always) perfect in her narration.
The Saxon Series is not typical of many book series I have read and loved. I have found that the later books in many series aren't as good as the first one or two. But I love them anyway. Bernard Cornwell's character Uhtred continues to fascinate and enthrall me with each book. I want to know what happens next more at the end of The Pagan Lord than the with the prior books and at the same time, not wanting the story to end.
It is easy to be disheartened by the economy, world events and the drudgery of getting through each day. The book Boys in the Boat reminded me to be thankful for the security, comfort and abundance that I take for granted most of the time. Thank you Daniel James Brown for telling the story of these amazing men who did the impossible during a time where hard work did not guarantee that you and your family would have a place to live or food to eat. Brown's mastery of story-telling brings to life the world as it was in the 1930's. The hardships of the Great Depression endured by millions of Americans and the changes that were occurring in Germany make the ultimate triumph of the University of Washington crew team of 1936 shine as bright in today's cynical world as it must have done then. Edward Hermann's beautiful narration could not have been better.
The combination of a compelling story well-told and perfectly matched narration made my heart swell with pride and reminded me that all-in-all, things aren't so bad. Listen and be inspired.
This is a fascinating story that is wonderfully told. Tom Reiss's detailed account is amazingly vivid not only of the period but he by giving the whereabouts or outcomes of many places and events today. Paul Michael gives a wonderful performance as the narrator. I cannot remember enjoying a book more!
Superficial story and horrible narration. I respect the effort it must take to write, publish and narrate a story so I think long and hard before giving a poor review. Pass on this one.
This is a wonderful story that is full of interesting characters, an unpredictable plot that is funny and tender that left me smiling. The narrators did an amazing job and I will definitely listen to this one again and again! Don't miss this great book.
This book has mystery, suspense, time travel, a gorgeous highlander and a smart protagonist. A wonderful book!
This book is the latest fantastic addition to an incredible series. KMM tells us more about the characters we love and love to hate and those we aren't sure about! The narration is likewise terrific with Phil G and Natalie R. Thanks for the great listen!
Don't miss this audiobook! I have listened to all 7 of the books in the series and they keep getting better. Number 7 doesn't disappoint! KMM is a terrific author and Phil Gigganti is a fabulous narrator. Can't wait for number 8!
