I loved the whole series when read by Cameron Bierle. He was the best narrator I had ever heard, so why on EARTH they switched to this woman is beyond me. I honestly haven't been able to do more then skip around in the book, because if I had to listen to her constantly I would go mad. Her voice for C'Nedra is so atrocious. She made a young dryad queen sound like a 90 year old hag. WHY??? I just don't understand. If it ain't broke, don't FIX it!! The book is good but I am going to read it on my kindle, because I just can't stand this narrator.

I love Brendan Fraser, I REALLY do. But the first time I heard him squeak Elenor's voice, then speeding Meggie's voice up until some of the words are almost unintelligible I about cried. The reader of the first book was SO wonderful, and while I think Brendan is a GREAT actor...reading books, especially with women speaking, is NOT his cup of tea. Sadly once I finish listening to this I won't be listening to it again. Every time her squeals Elenor's words like she's some demonic harpy I cringe.

I have really enjoyed the other dexter books. Sadly this one didn't hold up to the standards the other had gotten to. There are things that are repeated from the other books, and I was saddened by that. I really hope the next book goes back to the older style of making each book unique and creative.

I love this book. Really I do. I was so excited to get it on audiobook. I enjoyed the reading, and the book is great, but I really HATE the added weird "noise" that's added in here and there. It's clashing and unpleasant, and when wearing headphones I kept having to put the volume down when it came on. It make the reading less enjoyable and made it a definite no-go for my nightly before bed book listening.

I had picked this book up many times and just never got past the first few chapters. I don't know what it was...but it just didn't grip me the way most King books do. I got this here as a last ditch effort to read the only King book I hadn't read yet, and I was very glad I did. This book is very creative, and very well written. I love the story, and was very pleased to be able to get the semi-follow up book (black house) after I was done.

I had been RECENTLY lamenting the lack of It in Stephen King's audiobook selections, and then I get the email that they will be releasing it and I rushed over to audible the day it was available...and here it was. The reading on this is very good. Steven Weber puts real emotion into the areas that need it, and never have I needed to turn the volume up or down o hear the more quiet and loud parts. The book itself....well...it's one of King's masterpieces and will always hold a special place in my heart. It is about the terror of not only being a child and dealing with psychotic bullys, adults who seem oblivious and parents who aren't perfect, but also of being a grownup and realizing the full magnitude of how DIFFERENT being a child is. Throw in a murderous being that can be whatever you fear and ENJOYS terrifying you...and you have a one of a kind Stephen King book. It's long, it's epic, and it's worth every word.

I'm a Stephen King nut, so when this book came out, I got it in audiobook form as a gift. I loved the narration, and I actually listened to it so much one of the cds got messed up. I bought it on audiobook because I missed listening to it. The story is good. A little slow at first, but you know how everything Stephen King starts with he has a REASON for it being a little slow. It truly takes the story of a writer's death and turns it into a story of love, fear, anger, regret, and acceptance. At first the paranormal in this is minimal...or so it seems. Then it just comes out of the blue and smacks you stupid as only King can do. It's another winner for me.

I really love this book and was really looking forward to listening to it. Sadly, the narrator does this weird breathy thing every time he talks for a female...and it's just annoying as hell. When two of the main characters are female, it's important to get a narrator that can do female voices.

I love this book, but the reading of this is what has made me unable to put my ipod down. Blair Brown has such a melodious ad beautiful voice, and of course, we all love when Stephen King reads his own work. It's love!

Aside from fight club, I have never seen or read anything by Chuck Palahniuk. This story is somewhat disturbing, and well read. I loved it, and will be downloading the full book.
