wonderful book read by this cast was pure entertainment. I hated when it ended. Thanks to all for an amazing experience. I've been doing audible books for years (originally on cassettes!) - this is truly one of the best.

I found this book to be laborious and dull. Not at all like "Poisonwood". Some things just seemed to be amateurish (the mother-in-law especially) in character development and the relationship with the lead. I really struggled to read the whole thing. I didn't care what happened. And I am an ecologically supportive kind of person with a certified Monarch Habitat. It should have interested me. But no.

Add some energy, some real tension. The tension was weak.

Dull. Hire a trained professional. Sorry to be mean - but it may have been better if performed better.

Mother-in-law. Weird dead newborn with 'fur'. That was silly.

this book is dry and lackluster. I do NOT understand the acclaim it is receiving. Our entire bookclub disliked it. It just goes on and on and does nothing to give one pause to find it poetic or important in any way. Just DULL.

This was a book that I was not excited about when our book club chose it. When I started to listen to it, I was riveted from about the first five minutes. Mr. Goolrick did an outstanding job of weaving a story with characters that are painted exquisitely. Mr Feuerstein is one of the best narrators I have heard. Predictable with the ability to become another Sharon Stone loser movie.

When are authors going to learn that they are not also READERS! This book is painfully dry. With all the detail, I felt like I was back in a college class with one of the painfully monotonous professors. I was totally looking forward to this, and totally disappointed. Could NOT get thru it lest I fall asleep at the wheel of the car!
