"A Perfect Horror Story!"
Buehlman's novel is subtle leading you up to an interesting finale. Imagine your worst fears made trivial by a terror that exceeds your imagination.
I absolutely loved this story!
The characters have great duality and the era is an interesting one- post WWI.
The only negative I can report is the technical editing of the audio. The last word of of the last sentence in each chapter is clipped. I think the recording studio should be notified. You do understand what is being said -it is just my opinion that this causes a sense of abruptness the story would do better without.
"One Word......WOW!"
This is one of those rare tales that will leave you with your mouth hanging open at the end. It has more twists and turns than a pretzel with great character development and brilliant dual narration.
It left me with goosebumps! Really!
Without a doubt it is one of the best stories I have listened to in YEARS. Please give it a try if you like suspense and are not afraid to take a look at humanities dark side.
I have listened to over 500 stories in the last 4 years and this is by far one of the best! Top ten!
"Great Zombie Story Genre"
If the friend were into horror stories I would definately recommend this. A good read, hard to stop listening.
The character development was better than normally seen in many horror stories. This story is not about happy endings!
I think he was best as Philip Blake- gruff and angry, but also great as the polar opposite, the brother, so meek and lacking in confidence.
Yes but why give it away in a review?

"Superb Thriller"
I rarely take time to write a review, however this book merits a review and more.
The characters are multi-dimensional and the story will keep you curious to the end.
Tananarive Due is an excellent author- I am looking forward to her next story!
