Many (if not most) of these stories are very, very old and, needless to say, very very simplistic. I am sure they were incredibly imaginative and scary at the time, but now they make a very boring read.

This book is written for 13 year olds - simplistic, naive and draaawn out. The main protagonist `reluctantly`shares EVERY DETAIL of his life. The narration is poor and Nick Podehl sounds like he is reading to preschoolers. What a waste of credits!!!

Drawn out, naive and predictable. Probably quite exciting for a 6-7 grader. Not for an adult reader.

I enjoyed this book so much more than the Anansi Boys. It is more serious, thought provoking and suspenseful than any of his other books.

I found it very difficult to get into this book. The descriptions are often unnecessarily too detailed and drawn out. The characters are either all good or all bad, and not much is left to readers` imagination. Felt like a waste of money and time.

The first three quarters of the book are totally tedious! The main character is ridden with guilt and pain of having failed as a MAN-the protector and provider, and that is repeated throughout the book ad nauseam. If not for the last part of the book (where something actually starts happening), the whole thing would be a complete waste of time. Quite disappointing.

This entire book reads like an incredibly long foreword. Very flat and with no substance. I was very, very, very bored!!!

Amazing writing and fantastic narration. I have listened to all three books two times by now, and I cannot wait to get my hands on "A Feast for Crows" which is currently in print. Both hardcover and audiobook should be released in August, so write to Audible and ask them to get "A Feast of Crows" ASAP.

Beautifully written and wonderfully narrated. Never a dull moment.

George RR Martin is a GENIUS!!! I cannot remember when was the last time I felt this excited and enchanted by a book. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
