Orphaned Kit Tyler knows, as she gazes for the first time at the cold, bleak shores of Connecticut Colony, that her new home will never be like the shimmering Caribbean islands she left behind. In her relatives' stern Puritan community, she feels like a tropical bird that has flown to the wrong part of the world, a bird that is now caged and lonely.

This book was very fun and interesting! I would have NEVER read this because of how it looked and the title but I read this because of school and I loved it! This book is one of my favorite books ever! If you ever see this book in the store get it and read it! The beginning is not the best but is gets really really great! Read this book! I strongly suggest it! to any one even if you are old and if you are young it is a great fun adventuress book!
