Would you listen to The Secret Keeper again? Why?

I wouldn't listen again, because that's not something I do.

What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?

I think Caroline Lee's narration was excellent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At nearly 20 hours long - it's not possible to listen in one sitting. It is about 10 hours too long. It really didn't need to be this long and drawn out. I would have given it 5 stars, but it was just toooooo long!

    Any additional comments?

Like I said above, I liked the story and the ending very much. However, getting to the end was very long and drawn out.

What made the experience of listening to Beautiful Creatures the most enjoyable?

While iI enjoyed this first book in the series, I'm becoming bored with the paranormal genre. They all seem the same. Boy meets Girl, one of them "has a secret life",they fight to be together, etc, etc.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Marian the Librarian was such a surprise character. Macon Ravenwood came across as a cartoon character.

What about Kevin T. Collins’s performance did you like?

The narrator did a good job, but with most narrators, they just don't hit the opposite sex spot-on.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    If you liked Twilight . . .

    Any additional comments?

I love the freedom of Audible books. I love to read and with Audible I can "read" in the car or waiting to pick up the Grands from school, even grocery shopping!

No, this is my first one.

Where does Defending Jacob rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rate Defending Jacob in my top ten Audible books.

What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?

This is my first Grover Gardner narration. At first, I didn't think I would like his voice, but shortly after, I warmed to the timber of his voice and it was perfect. He sounded very fatherly.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

As the mother of a grown son and grandmother to a fourteen year old boy I cringed at the the thought of a parent going through a terror like this. I could relate closer with Andy, the dad, more so than the mother, Laurie.

    Any additional comments?

Wow, how far would you go to protect your child?
I felt slightly emotionally paralyzed at then end.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

The Winter Sea is the perfect title for this story.

    Any additional comments?

This book was one of our Book Club choices. It was my first Susanna Kearsley book. It is exactly the sort of Gothic, Historical Fiction I enjoy reading. I was hooked immediately and have read or will read all her books. I have even preordered her The Firebird for release in June 2013 in the US.
    Highly recommend all her books.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

While I knew in my heart that Nick didn't kill Amy, there were many chapters where I would bet he wished he had! I think this will be a great movie.

The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautiful Ruins?

Finding out that Pasquale went back to find his first love and marry her and raise his family.

What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?

Eduardo Ballerini did a wonderful job of narrating. Except for the voice of Dee/Debra.

If you could take any character from Beautiful Ruins out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Pasquale was my favorite character. He had such beautiful dreams and a strong sense of responsibility.

    Any additional comments?

Dee's son was a real disappointment.

Somewhere in South America at the home of the country's vice president, a lavish birthday party is being held in honor of Mr. Hosokawa, a powerful Japanese businessman. If you could sum up Bel Canto in three words, what would they be?

    Engrossing and Tragic

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved all the individual characters, but I think that Mr. Hosokawa sticks in my mind the most. A business man who had little time for his family, he was the most changed by these events.

Which character – as performed by Anna Fields – was your favorite?

Anna Fields did such an amazing narration of this book. She brought life to all the characters, male and female in many foreign languages. Amazing!

Who was the most memorable character of Bel Canto and why?

Gen was the most memorable for me. He brought guests and terrorists together in a way that would not have been possible without his interpretations.

    Any additional comments?

Read/listen to this book. You won't be sorry. I listened to State of Wonder for my book club and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to read another Ann Patchett book. I chose this one for it's unusual premise. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
