Very well constructed. Laugh out load scenes so be careful where you are while listening. We need more characters like Sergio in this world.

Bring back George Wilson. The story and humor is excellent but the reader is terrible.

Pirate Latitudes is not Michael Crichton at his best, but it is an adventure tale with plenty of action, atmosphere, and suspense.I liked it and it was funny. It is a world when men ruled so not many chicks will like it.

This is a chick book with really bad dialog. All beware.
As an audio book it is a complete failure. The narrator is barely understandable. She reads the dialog (poorly written dialog) fine. But the rest is terrible. Her sentences trail off so you can hear the last word. The emphasis is all over the place, trying to make it interesting I guess. Another guess is that the story is so feminine that the narrator supposes you (women) already KNOW what is about to be read so you really don't need to speak clearly, just rush through the obvious (to women).

I don't write reviews but I have a strong feeling that I owe the world a warning. Slow moving would be a plus for this book. Author is pompous and narrator is annoying with his pronunciations couple with stiff, literal, un-natural use of military terms. Topping this all off is that the last 30-40 minutes are used to lecture you on the whys and wherefores of who did what and why. This is a thriller?
