"She did it again!"
It has been two years from where the last book left off. 18 year old Reagan has made Harmony her home with her Great Uncle. This book tells you all about the characters in the last book "Welcome to Harmony" and you get to know some new characters. The main two characters in this book is Liz and Gabe. Liz is the flighty but good nature Lawyer and youngest sister of volunteer fire chief Hank Matheson. Gabe is a man that does not want to be noticed by anyone, thinking that people from his past are after him. It takes Liz to keep Gabe out of trouble with the town Sheriff. This book is great and Julia Gibson again does a great job in the narration.
"Duck and his Rose"
Wild Texas Rose is the sixth book in the Whispering Mountain series, it is the second book with the second generation. This book follows Rose McMurray the adopted daughter of Teagen McMurray. Rose is the middle daughter and spends most of her life taking care of the ranch house. She has decided not to marry three times always feeling like something is missing in the relationship. Now her friend Victoria has written needing her help. Rose has never done anything wild in her life, but now she is leaving to go help her friend with a problem she knows nothing about.
Duncan "Duck" McMurray is a McMurray in name only, being the adopted son of Travis McMurray. He has been taking care of Rose his who life, keeping her out of danger not that she would know it. Duck never thought that Whispering Mountain was home if Rose was not there. Now Duncan McMurray is in Dallas working as a Texas Rangers, a pair of train robbers are on trial and have promised to kill every McMurray. So now that Rose is up here and not on the Ranch he has two jobs, the Rangers and keeping Rose out of danger.
This story is said to be about Rose and Duncan, but it is more like four stories in one. Each story crossing over the other; Victoria and Killian, Abe and the school marm's, and Stitch and Hallie's. Jodi Thomas does a great job to spend all these characters in to one store. Linda Stephens does a great job with the narration.
"Tall, Dark, and a heart of Rock"
Teagen McMurray never wants to level Whispering Mountain and didn't much like people in general. All he ever wanted to do is take care of his ranch. But when he gets a letter from his only friend Eli asking him to take care of his wife and children, Teagen had no choice but to do what Eli asked.
Jessie Barton is on the run; now that her husband Eli is dead his mother says that she has no rights to the bookstore that Eli owned and that the three girls should come to live with her because Jessie has no money to take care of them. So Jessie is just looking for a safe place to land for a little while with her daughters.
This is one of Jodi Thomas' best books. All of the Whispering Mountain novels are great, but this one is one of my favorites. Jessie and the girls bring Teagen McMurray back to life. Linda Stephens does a wonderful job with the narration. If you like the Whispering Mountain series you'll love this one. If you are new to this series you'll find out just want makes Whispering Mountain great.
"Texas Blue"
The fifth book in the Whispering Mountain series, is the first book with the second generation. Duncan "Duck" McMurray is now a Texas Ranger and has decided to send three men to Whispering Mountain Ranch, three "gentlemen" picked to call on Duncan's cousins. When his friend Lewton Paterson, wanting a chance to married into a good family decides to take the place of one of the gentlemen callers. While Duncan goes to the Texas-Mexico border to fight cattle rustlers, not wanting to go with the men to Whispering Mountain to face his cousins.
Lewton soon finds out that the three women are just what he is looking for, but they are not liking for anyone like him. So he ends up spending his time working the ranch, the hardest work he has ever done; but he likes the work. In the end Lewton and a ranch-hand Em have to go to the border to try to save Duncan's life.
This is a great story that Jodi Thomas had written, it lives up to the rest of the stories in this series. Linda Stephens does a good job with the narration.
"Another Great Story"
Jodi Thomas has written another great book with Texas Princess. This second book in the "Whispering Mountain" series is about the youngest brother Tobin McMurray. He is send to show a horse to a Senators daughter. Soon things go wrong and now every law man in Texas is after Tobin McMurray for kidnapping. You will come to love Tobin McMurray and the Texas Princess, hopping that the two of them will get just what they want. Linda Stephens does a wonderful job with the narration of this book.
"The Story that made the Movie Big"
Planet of the Apes is one of the biggest Science Fiction series there is in the movie world. Pierre Boulle, wrote one of the greats story's of all time.
Lost on a Planet where humans can't speak and Apes run the world; Ulysse is now fighting for his life. All the major characters from the movie are in this book that started it all.
If you liked the movies then you will love this book.
"Strangers on a train"
This is one of J. D. Robb's best Novels yet. Dallas has a case that looks like a sex game gone wrong, but Thomas Anders is a nice guy. No one that knows him things that he was in to that kind of game.
At the same time another detective is having trouble with a murder that happen two months earlier. That is when Roarke talks about a old movie called "Strangers on a Train". Now Dallas see how the two murders can be related, but can she prove that her killers used a plot line from a old movie to kill their husbands.
This is an old story line with a new twist. J.D. Robb does a great job writing this story. Susan Ericksen has become the voice of Eve Dallas. There is no one else that can narrate for this series. Susan has made each character come to life.
"Creation in Death"
"The Groom" is back and this time he has made the game personal. Dallas has a murderer from nine years ago come back. But this time she is not a young Detective, and the worse thing is that "The Groom" wants Dallas to play the game with him.
Dallas and her team all want to put this man behind bars for all the women he has killed, but feels are hot because he has gotten away before. Feeney and Dallas have to go back to their old notes to try to find something they missed the first time.
J. D. Robb has written another great story and Susan Ericksen does a great job with the narration as always.
"Vampire in New York"
This Novella is not J. D. Robb's best but it is worth the time to listen too. Dallas is trying to find the killer of club-hopping Tiara Kent who is found in her bed with no blood. With her team having problems thinking that Dracula has come to New York. Dallas must find a killer that will take blood from his victims and convince them that they will live again as a vampire.
This is a short story, that means that you get half of want you get in a normal J.D. Robb novel. The story line goes quickly, but it is a good listen. If you like the 'In Death' series you will love this Novella.
"Murder that makes the grade"
No body really liked being in school or that is what Dallas thinks. But when she must go back to school to see why someone would want to kill Craig Foster. Dallas finds that school can kill you. Mr. Foster is history teacher, that everyone seems to like.
Dallas and her team are looking for a killer that seems to have studied Mr. Foster well. Before long, Dallas's best suspected is killed. Now she has two murders both at Upper West Side private school.
At the same time Dallas has other things on her mind, Magdelana. A beautiful woman from Roarke's past, that wants a second chance. Dallas is trying to take care of her home life and find a killer at the same time. Neither is getting her full attention, so both problems are only getting bigger.
This is one of the best novels that J.D. Robb has written yet. The story keeps you on your toes the whole time.
"Can bad book-keeping kill?"
Natalie Copperfield and her fiancé have been murdered, both worked for the same company and everything Dallas has found shows that their murders have something to do with the accounting that Natalie was working on. Dallas thinks that Natalie found out something about a company that got her killed.
At the same time Dallas is try not to think about Mavis having her baby soon. During a baby shower that Dallas gave for Mavis, one of Mavis friends did not show up and no one has heard from her in days. So now Dallas is trying to find a murderer and find a missing a pregnant woman, Tandy Willow, at the same time.
This is classic J. D. Robb, a wonderful story of murder with a side story that will tug on your heartstrings.
