"In wartime," Winston Churchill wrote, "truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." For Britain's counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agents imaginable - including a history professor named Alfred Vicary.

This was my first Daniel Silva book. I downloaded it based upon the other reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The story was riveting, the characters were well drawn, the narrator was "spot on," and I didn't want the story to end. I'm definitely going to download more Daniel Silva books.

I enjoyed this free so book much, I downloaded the first book. The narrator did a spot-on job of telling the story with different voices. In fact, the narrator was so good, I'm looking for other books he's narrated. The story was entertaining and suspenseful, but had a touch of humor. Very nicely done.

Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly erotic, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force - a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses. It is a novel only Anne Rice could write. From the Paperback edition.

James says: "Compelling, Simon Vance does it again!"

I wanted to like this story, but I could not. Nothing good happens in the story and I found the whole thing rather depressing. That being said, the narrator was fantastic. I did not finish listening and returned the bokk.
