I had a very difficult time listening to this book. I did so only because I had to be in the car for an extended period of time. This was my first (and last) book by Iris Johansen. The storyline and characters are not believable and the dialogue is most often juvenile. The narrator did a good job with what she was given to work with and I would be interested in hearing her work with a different author.
The characters are not believable and the narration is so slow that the listener's attention may wander. The main character is supposed to be a hardened veteran of both war and covert operations yet he acts like a social worker. His character is not believable. Don't trust the Audible description for this book.
I have read 6 of the Reacher novels and this is, in my opinion, the best. It lays the ground work for the book that follow. I always wondered how Jack moved on from the Army to his nomadic way of life. Now I know.
