In this superb novel - an Oprah Book Club selection - a woman re-creates her life after divorce by opening up her house to strangers and her heart to the simple miracle of possibility.

    Iris says: "Open House"
    "Enjoyable"
    Overall

The guests in the house were more enjoyable than the main character...but still it was a nice listen.

    Story

Here is a wry and beautifully distilled portrait of one woman's resilience in the face of loneliness, and of a union that transcends life's most unexpected and challenging circumstances.

"unknown" says: "elizabeth berg never disappoints"
    "Sad but enlightening"
    Overall

This was an easy listen. The story was a bit predictable, but enjoyable just the same. Of course, anything dealing with death, isn't that pleasant..but Berg managed to make you forget that Chip was terminal.

    Story

With her trademark wisdom and humor, Anita Diamant (The Red Tent) considers the nature, strength, and necessity of adult female friendship. Good Harbor examines the tragedy of loss, the insidious nature of family secrets, and the redemptive power of friendship.

    Laurie says: "Pleasant if forgettable."
    "Take me to Good Harbor!"
    Overall

This story was so vivid, the descriptions of the coast of Massachusettes made me want to take a trip there. It was a wonderful story...and anything by Diamant is a good read!
