In the emotional aftermath of her baby's death, Em starts running. Soon she runs from her husband, to the airport, down to the Florida Gulf, and out to Vermillion Key, where her father has offered the use of a shack he has kept there for years. This is doing her all kinds of good, until one day she makes the mistake of looking into the driveway of a man named Pickering. Pickering also enjoys the privacy of Vermillion Key, but the young women he brings there suffer the consequences. Will Em be next?

Fantastic book. I didn't want to put it down, and with it being an audiobook, I didn't have to. If you like King, You'll LOVE this story. I had a connection with Em right from the start. I rate this 5 stars.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

The ONLY bad thing I can say about this book and this series is that Rachel is not able to write them as fast as I can read/listen to them! I adore this series!!

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when--or if--it will go away.
