This audio book is a smooth blend of romance - history - period - and magic. It takes you right into the period, and descriptions are amazing down to the tiniest of details.....

What other book might you compare Dangerous Magic to and why?

Non that I have listened to thus far.

    Any additional comments?

Was super impressed with this authors story and style - will look for more from her for sure. her Vocabulary and non typical choices of words for descriptions left nothing to the imagination painting a living color picture in your mind from scene to scene of the book.

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she's ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family's vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there's some great scenery there.... Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief - and best friend of her former fiancé. There's a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it's not just those deep green eyes.

Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

What made the experience of listening to The Witness the most enjoyable?

The narrator did an amazing job, especially rolling off a Russian accent for the mob characters...very realistic.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Witness?

The originating murder scene was not expected, and blew me away. Set the stage for the rest of the book, as an edge of your seat thriller with a lovely love story intertwined.

Which character – as performed by Julia Whelan – was your favorite?

    All the russian voices.

Little else in life is as dangerous as fire jumping. Flying past towering pillars of smoke, parachuting down to the edge of an all-consuming blaze, shoveling and sawing for hours upon hours, days at a time, all to hold the line and push back against the raw power of Mother Nature. But there’s also little else as thrilling - at least to Rowan Tripp. The Missoula smoke jumpers are one of the most exclusive firefighting squads in the nation, and the job is in Rowan’s blood: her father is a legend in the field. She’s been fighting fires since her eighteenth birthday.

Where does Chasing Fire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top. I knew nothing about smoke jumpers and found the new found education to be interesting as well as an excellent setting for a novel.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Going to try Nora Robers again - I hadn't read one of her books in years, but enjoyed this one so much I am going to give it another go.

Have you listened to any of Rebecca Lowman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No this was my first. But I would seek her out as a narrator. Her annunciation is syllable by syllable perfect. Easy to listen to without any annoying twangs....even on the one southern accent character.

If you could take any character from Chasing Fire out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Gul - definitely Gul. He seems like the kind of person you would have fun with no matter what.

    Any additional comments?

A good listen.... made my chores fly by!

When Melissa Francis was eight years old, she won the role of lifetime: playing Cassandra Cooper Ingalls, the little girl who was adopted with her brother (played by young Jason Bateman) by the Ingalls family on the world’s most famous prime-time soap opera, Little House on the Prairie. But behind the scenes, her success was fueled by the pride, pressure, and sometimes grinding cruelty of her stage mother.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Raised during the Little House years, is what initially made me buy this book - but once you get to about the second paragraph, you are grasped by the story - the characters and their feelings and can not put it down.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Opening scene moves you right into the writers shoes.......

    Any additional comments?

Excellent use of descriptive adjectives - and thank you to Melissa Francis for sharing her private story - all the best to her on her many successes she obtained all by herself!

It’s just another instance of the Big Lie, of course, told so often that some people have actually started to believe it. In Guilty, Ann Coulter explodes this myth to reveal that when it comes to bullying, no one outdoes the Left. Citing case after case, ranging from the hilariously absurd to the shockingly vicious, Coulter dissects these so-called victims who are invariably the oppressors.

The facts - Ann provides so much ammunition and facts that you wouldn't be able to find for yourself.

I bought this version specifically because Ann was the narrator.
